It's actually quite a PC term, although some don't like it. It is basically used to group all non-whites.

It is NOT the same as using the word "coloured".

So is it racist to say white guy too? You gotta identify sob's you when you dont know their names you know. Sometimes their color is the easiest way but i use black,white,brown,red,yellow etc . But i see how someone who isn't acquainted with people of several different ********** would just say the person of color referring to that 1 black guy they know.

It's theoretically a "PC" way to say "non-white" and usually means a black person.

Every time I hear that expression I try to wonder who first coined it.......bet you money it wasn't "a person of color".
