Just saw it. I was not impressed. Reminded me a lot of The Hurt Locker, which I also thought was hugely overrated. Not sure how it won best picture. I just don't see the greatness in American Sniper everyone else sees.

Saw it Saturday night.....was good but not great

I much preferred The Hurt Locker as an Iraq War movie.

Good movie but I'm pretty sure a guy who goes on 4 killing spree missions that results in 160 dead people at the hands of his sniper's rifle is a psychopath and pretty dangerous to have walking around in the streets when he gets home. He (Chris Kyle) wrote this/his story but I have a feeling he left out a lot of his dark secrets.

            I will also add...

i remember when i saw jarhead's trailer and thinking it was gonna be some epic movie kinda like black hawk down. but of course we all know it was an utter failure.

hope this one would be something good.

I keep reading how this movie doesn't reflect who this guy was at all and just serves to make him look like a better person than he was. And apparently the guy's father threatened Eastwood legally if he made his son look bad.

I'm interested if anyone here knows more about Chris Kyle and can say if that's true or not.

Million Dollar Baby was overrated but good, and also way back in 2004

                Changeling was meh IMO.

Flags of Our Fathers and Letters from Iwo Jima were great though.
I love Million Dollar Baby. That was a terrific movie. So was Letters from Iwo Jima.

Eastwood is usually pretty good, but he's not as consistent as he used to be.

IMO this movie was actually terrible. Bradley Cooper gave a solid if very overrated performance. I don't understand how a character has multiple scenes showcasing his PTSD and when it came time to confront the issue of PTSD the main character goes, "Nah, I'm good." Then the issue doesn't come up anymore. The movie even has gives Cooper's character a fucking sniper nemesis. It was like a Marvel movie most of the time.

                    BTW, RUBBER BABY.

This is some fucking amateur hour type shit.

Exactly. This dude was a racist redneck. He is no hero. Fahk him. He's rotting now, so who gives a ****. Movie wasn't that great either, glad I downloaded this shiet.
