I think the most powerful and memorable aspect of the movie is Denzel Washington's character.

The whole time you want to believe he's a good guy but you keep seeing flaws in his character and you keep wondering if he's trustworthy or not. The whole movie, your judgement of him keeps going up and down up and down, you're not sure what he is. You feel as lost and as confused as ethan hawke's character is, as denzel's character spins him and you in a web of lies and false hopes.

Not really bro lol, you see he's a piece of **** pretty early. The characters in the departed are light years better than anyone in training day. Movies not even top 20 of this generation.

But you have to remember the premise of the movie is that this is basically Ethan Hawke's job interview. He's spending a day with denzel to prove he's cut out to be a narcotics agent.

The whole movie I was wondering if Denzel was just testing him to see if he could get the position or if he really was just a crook. I was in a dilemma about it all the way up to the ending.

Didn't they kill that cop and take all his money in the first twenty minutes? Pretty sure it was clear he was crooked from that point lol

At the time I believed denzel though. I thought that guy was just a criminal drug dealer who was protected by the system and that money was drug money. I was high when I saw this movie for the first time.

It was a decent movie but it was kinda predictable. It's the typical "good" vs "evil" movie, and you know the villain always die in the end.

However, great performance by Denzel Washington. He made the role a whole lot better than what it was.

I enjoyed the movie aswell and Denzil, as usual, showed why he's one of the best. He made the movie. But overall, it was predictable and that ending was so ridiculous. Unless they had a GPS device on his car, they're not finding him after that whirlwind ending.

the greatest movie needs to have the greatest actors and this one doesnt pass the sniff test.

godfather 1 and 2 for example had Pacino, Di Niro, Duvall, Brandon. 4 reasons why its considered an ATG film.

however, best line of the film though, lol:
