The officers were special anti-terrorism guys thus no uniforms. He was a fool to run though ... was he a native english speaker?

This is a very sad case. You got to feel for the man and his parents. Lets not forget he was a foreigner in this country (he was Brazilian).
Now if I was a foreigner in Brazil and I saw a large group of Brazilian men approaching me (newspapers report up to 20 plain clothes officers tailing him) I too, would be worried. Infact I would run, just like he did.
His parents are planning on sueing the police and I wish them all the best.

In fact I've heard that where I'm from if a cop has his sirens on you you can call the dispatcher and let them know that you're not going to pull over until you're in a safe place...they especially recommend this for women on highways.

Although this is unfortunate tragedy, I can understand the reaction of the cops. This guy was came from the same apartment complex where the bombers lived. He was wearing a coat in the middle of July and he ran from the police. That in itself is very su****ious. Considering the recent bombings, the police doesn't know what this guy is capable of. For all intensive purposes, he could be a suicide bomber. The police assumed he was a suicide bomber and shot him before he could blow himself up. This is sad, but that's the world we live in now. I believe it was an honest mistake.

The Police had been tailing this man for the last few weeks and yes he stayed in the same flats as other suspects. Wearing a coat in summer is very su****ious and the police are on a " shoot to kill order" and the man did run away away when confronted and as far as the police knew he was armed to the teeth with explosives so they were only doing their duty in protecting the people of London. What if the man was a ********* and the police didn't shoot to kill then there would be another 20+ innnocent people dead. As far as the police are concerned. Better one person being dead (perhaps innocent), than another dozen plus innocent people dying. I know this is a tragedy but i respect the poliemen's decision as they were thinking of the welfare of the people of London.
