It was an expanding empire. Hard to call it a group. More of a multitude.
Just wanted to clarify that for our viewer it wasn't "ALL"
If there are 1 million people of a belief system, and only 999,999 of those people attack, that 1 who doesn't because he/she feels different would not make "all"
But, to dig into the point: These people that went on the "expansion" trail, they used force and did harm to others?

Absolutely, in the same way that every empire in history has done. I mean the Pax Romanus and Pax Britannica were times of relative prosperity and ease for those living through them, but the peace under Rome took a hundred years of turmoil to establish and the peace under Britain necessitated the clash of empires including the Dutch, Spanish and French first and was brought to an end at the hands of the Germanic empires.

But even though they are ******s they attacked?
And since we are talking about War, expansion through force; innocent people would have been robbed, possibly ****d, tortured, murdered, etc?
And the same goes for the Romans and other Empires in general?
Could this be more of a Human Nature thing instead of a something that Is specific to a group, race, or religion?
Its more complicatec than religion, more to do with the middle east being in such a good stategic position. You control that you control most of the Indian & atlantic trade routes, plus the mediterranean.Very lucrative if u have designs on that sort of thing.
Short and sweet but totally accurate in general terms.
I recommend Zbigniew Brzezinsky's "The Grand Chessboard" on an elaborate, yet extremely dry explanation of it.

Oh absolutely, it's certainly the overarching quality of our species. We're a social yet territorial animal.
