Dang, appreciate the history lesson - the Rise and Fall of the Lounge Empire. I've been on the site for a while. Joined another boxing site first circa 2004 which shall remain nameless, then got on here few years after that. Read more than I post and have gotten countless laughs and pearls of wisdom here. Hard to believe the juicy stuff - politics, Jose's GIF thread, etc. - has been suppressed. I still login here like a man returning to the scene where he lost something years ago and keeps hoping it will miraculously reappear one day.

Nah nah nah that was when I was coming around regularly. That was when this site was at its heights.

In fact, most of my days at work were spent on these very forums from 2015 - 2017. Nearly every fu#king day I kid you not. It was glorious.

Getting paid while browsing the BoxingScene forums. My god. What lovely memories.

Made $16 hr as a shift supervisor too. I didn’t supervise sh#t! Only supervising I did was on the forums.

Worst part is now that you can’t even bump those classic threads cuz they’ll all be deleted .

thats the reason that i even signed up here in the first place. used to be great, i had fights in HD saved. now i have no fights saved anywhere. when DAZN had reasonable prices i would watch old fights on there but i dumped my subscription when they made everything PPV while at the same time ******* rates up

Been here for years and a regular. Became more so the lounge but still did read the boxing articles and post in that forum a bit. What lowered contribution there was when they started merging all threads related to the same fight or fighter/s. It lost nuance of topics, and everything became 50 pages, your post is just noise. It's not so much a conversation.

As for the lounge. That's been the final straw. The moderation has killed it.

The place seems a lot quieter. It's a shame. But in a way, unless the site whoever the owners are, are going to listen and recognise some of these key reasons and mistakes. Then, it's kind of deserved. Traffic may have still declined, but by no way near as much as it has. They've shot themselves in the foot. Even this could get me banned the new system is so ridiculous. So be it.

I've been in here since before 2004 with a Different name. I remember all the Old Ones, not fondly I'm afraid.
