For those vaccinated means: 2 + booster. Then, 3 more doses for #Omicron, if needed, pending further analysis.

they are upping our restrictions, not a single person in hospital but theyve decided to up it, the day after it turns out the government were partying whilst everyone else was in lockdowns. now they are dragging out all the doomsayers from before such as whitty and pantsdown ferguson who didnt follow his own damn guidelines.

South Africa is saying no one has been in the hospital with it. No one here has died from it. But we need a vaccine for a cold now.

evidence based medicine gone out of the window now, scientists want their faces in the news paper, its now hysteria based medicine and dealing in 'it could do this, it could do that' some of them are loving this. the claims about omniCON were a damn disgrace 'pandemic v2.0' 'horror strain' 'atrocious protein profile' 'the worst weve seen' 'could evade vaccines' a week later it looks like its weaker than the others, i dont think one person in 7 billion has died, not one person in hospital in uk in a population of 70 or so million and looks like we may not need a new miracle vaccine works. why cant these people keep their mouths shut before they know what the state of play is. what happened to keep calm and carry on

What they're actually saying is that a 3rd dose is largely effective at neutralising Omicron although unvaccinated people should consider 3 doses to be the standard protocol for the latest version of the vaccine. Probably they should have rolled out the original vaccine as a 3 dose vaccine but it wasn't clear that would be necessary at the time. The idea that there might be extra doses required - or even annual vaccinations - was publicly discussed during the intitial rollouts however.
