No one wanted him, yet, they felt that was a sign to give Lamar the new biggest QB contract.

      5 yrs/$260 mil (180 FG)
An MVP and 1 postseason win goes a long way.

He will not live up to that contract.
      Can't believe Balt caved in.
In 3 years Jackson won't even be a top 5 highest paid QB and his contract won't even be worth a conversation in NFL circles.

I wonder what the ceiling is going to be.
Can a team afford any other FA ?

Who knows, TV money is kicking in soon so it's gonna up a lot more then usual, but you know they keep the ceiling artificially low to ensure maximum profits for the owners.

Big QB contracts aren't going away any time soon, but they never stay big for long.

            Mahomes
            Burrow
            Herbert
            Lawrence
            Allen
            Fields
            Tua (if healthy)

Will all sign bigger deals then Lamar in the next 3 to 5 years.

Undrafted QB Malik Cunningham brings intriguing skill set to Patriots

"He had been offered a scholarship by Alabama as a safety but chose Louisville because he wanted to play quarterback and follow in the footsteps of the ' ."
"He finished his career 692-of-1,105 for 9,664 yards with 70 touchdowns and 29 interceptions, but it was as a speedy and quick ball carrier that he dazzled most, totaling 619 carries for 3,184 yards and 50 touchdowns."

A few years (maybe) of ''flashing'' and then kaput.
that's where the nfl is headed or where the nfl is now. running qbs. then again, mahomes isnt really a running qb.

im intrigued to see how anthony richardson does with the colts. same with cj stroud with the texans.

I'm just not sure what you mean by "deserve it".

They won't all win the SB.

They won't all make it to the SB.

They will all make their teams contenders (meaning in the playoffs regularly).

In the NFL that gets you a big QB contract. Every time.

All of them. They don't need to win a SB to put fans in stands or get advertisers to spend big bucks.

Just like Jake Paul, Those players just showing up put fans and advertisers in the stands whether they win a SB or not. Winning an SB is not the only thing that brings value to a franchise. Bringing fans and advertisers are big parts or it too.

                    So cut the silliness.

Running ''QBs'' as opposed to ''mobile'' QBs are failures in the long ''run''.
                      Not a single SB ring.
In the end, they try to become pocket passers.....too late.
IMHO, CJ is more inline with Mahomes than Lamar. Mobile but always looking downfield. I'm hoping he does well.
