I thought Germany were electric for 20 minutes tonight.

I like Schurrle a lot. I reckon he could have a storming World Cup. He is very fit and really hasn't played that much football as early on in the season it looked like Mourinho didn't rate him.

He's a quality player. With Reus out Schurrle is going to be a threat. He could be a left-field choice for the golden boot - there is goals in the kid.

Man, I hope Reus can make it for the World Cup. Missing a World Cup because of a twisted ankle is fucked.

Ankle injuries seem like minor things but they are some of the worst you can get! Joint injuries in general are horrible. Poor Marcos, he would have shone at this world cup.

I still think Germany will go far and possibly win it with or without Reus.

If they had a younger Klose they'd be a shoe-in.

Real Madrid are preparing a £25 million move for Ramires.......

I don't like Cesc but if he is worth £27 million and Rakitic is worth £17 millon, Ramires can't be worth more than £3 million.

If this was Football Manager you would have to cheat to bring in £75 million for Luiz and Ramires.

Conceivably Chelsea could make a profit by bringing in Fabregas and Costa and losing two og our weakest players/most unreliable. Though the wages would be big on the two coming in, but Luiz is not even someone who needs to be replaced at all.

Buying Brazilian adds zeros onto a transfer fee.

What say you, United fans. Is Rooney gonna flop again at this world cup or has Nevin been selective with the clips he's chosen?

In front of goal, Rooney is clinical but for some reason or other he isn't able to get there anymore. Whenever the ball gets played in to him, more often than not, Rooney miss-controls the pass, losing the ball, or he overhits a pass out wide. I cannot remember the last time he slipped someone through or turned on a dime and run at the centre backs.

Rooney has never scored in a world cup finals and I wouldn't put money on that changing this time around.

Rooney's tekkers is overrated but he has a good football brain

How many times does a commentator praise Rooney for his ideas rather than his execution in a game? It will usually come after an outrageous attempt at a scoop pass or something - which just isn't a percentage ball.

Rooney sees the bigger picture but he fails a lot in trying to pull it off.

It's why I see him as an orthodox no 9. He is not that player with that bit of magic to unlock a defence. He can create something out of nothing for himself and the closer to the penalty area the more dangerous he is. He is a powerful player with great energy and big heart and an ability to score all kind of goals. He should be more selfish. He was in Euro 2004 before he was over-coached.

Rooney should have joined Chelsea and Mourinho it would have been a good fit him and for us I think. He would have been an orthodox front man for the rest of his top-level career. As it stands he is slowly sliding further back on the pitch due to this incorrect widely held belief that he is some sort of Paul Scholes style technican. Rooney for me is closer to a Didier Drogba than he is to a Gianfranco Zola/Bergkamp.

I don't think he was ever clinical enough in front of goal. He scores plenty but he'll blast in a wonder-goal from 30 yards and then miss a tap-in. Definitely not an orthodox target man.
