Arsenal have been trying to score that goal for about 16 years.
Used to score goals like that all the time in the Invincibles era and other times. No one else in the league can score goals like that.

Wenger pretty much always plays a second string in the Carling Cup. Chelsea are no special exception. We have games against Liverpool, Dortmund away and then United away to come after that so why would we risk injuring anyone in a Mickey Mouse cup? I don't care if it would be a trophy. No one is going to be raving about Arsenal if we win the Carling Cup.

Yeah because we lost our two best players from the previous season - Van Persie and Song in the summer. It completely ***ed any momentum we had going from the previous season.

This year, we haven't lost anyone. That's the biggest factor - continuity. We are still the same squad basically. Then when you add a player like Ozil, it just kicks it on further.

Oh my goodness, he just hit that on the volley from there.

      What a ****ing goal Kasami.

He's on the run, facing away from goal with the keeper covering the entire net and a defender tracking his run. Absolutely ridiculous goal!

          It should be.

That is a big game for both clubs. There will be 9,000 travelling Chelsea fans and a sold out Arsenal home crowd of real fans who probably don't get to as many games as they would like.

Wenger would be short-changing Arsenal fans if he played a young side and it would even annoy Chelsea fans I think - it would annoy me and I am not even going. Arsenal can't pick and choose trophies - they're still serial losers until they actual gain some silverware. If Arsenal play a young side and get comfortably dispatched I am certain they would regret it. I don't see how you can foster a winning culture by sacrificing trophies you could win.

Chelsea will go balls to the wall to win that and I bet the end up playing more games than Arsenal this season.

Is that FC Basel they're playing?

Yeah exactly. They will go balls to the wall which means Mourinho will play a team of bully boys who he will instruct specifically to go out and kick Arsenal off the pitch. That is the only way he could beat us during his last spell and that's the only way he could compete with Barca in Spain.

No way we should risk anyone important against a team of thugs and knuckle draggers.

THAT goal has got to be nailed on for goal of the season.

They have had a relatively easy start (apart from Spurs) to the season so it should be interesting to see if they are the real deal when they play the top teams. The Dortmund game tomorrow should be tasty.
I'm backing them for the title.

Knuckle draggers like Mata, Hazard, and Oscar and a 7 stone Ramires?

Mourinho will expect to win that game and so will the Chelsea team. No one knows what Arsenal will do. Probably bum off a consolation goal from Serge Gnabry or something. And then have the temerity to say 'if only.'

They should actually try and compete. I think it is a big moment in the season that game.

Mourinho has no idea what to do with those kinds of players. He didn't sign any of them and wouldn't have had he been in charge!

He'll drag out disgraceful thugs like Essien and Obi Mikel plus the usual hatchet men - The Racist, Fat Lamps, Ivanovich. Stick Demba Ba up front and launch balls to him.

Do you actually think Mourinho can beat us at football? Even our second string?

I think Chelsea can overcome Arsenal whatever the setting and whatever the type of game.

And it has been that way ever sense Wayne Bridge knocked you out of the Champions' League all those years ago.

Arsenal are a good team playing well but they're flat track bullies. I suspect they will resume the foetal position against a team like Chelsea and take a good shoeing. It is what they do now.
