City are a bum ass team with no history.
If It wasn't for the oil rich sugar daddy, they would still be in the lower leagues somewhere.

Chelsea bid for Rooney.
£10 million and Mata according to the Daily Mail. As if.
And as if United would reject that. Mata is a better, younger player than Rooney and on less wages.
Tomorrow I expect to read reports Chelsea have bid a world record £87 million bid plus Eden Hazard and Oscar and a pick of whoever our best player is at a time of United's choosing. The sports media in this country are out of control at the moment.
Did Man U really bid for Fabregas? I doubt it.
Have Arsenal bid for Suarez? No way on God's green earth.
Were Chelsea and Man City actually interested in Cavani? Well no. Never submitted a bid between them. Yet it was still Chelsea who got 'snubbed'.
Higuain was close to signing? No. Arsenal never even submitted a bid.

The way i see it is we should just let Rooney go. He's unplayable on his day but recently he's been having too many off days and it seems like he asks to leave at the end of every season nowadays. Plus if it's true that Chelsea offered Mata and £10 million that's a no brainer to me, Mata is currently better than Rooney and younger.
I'm a bit confused as to why Chelsea want to get rid of Mata so much though. According to BBC Sport the other player they were willing to swap was David Luiz, though i don't want that liability in the team.
Either way, United need to make a statement in the transfer window soon because it's starting to look like all our targets are going elsewhere and don't want to come to the club.

I'd be well pissed off if Mata was involved.
That would be a pathetic bid. I can't believe it because United would have accepted that in a heartbeat.
Logically, I think it must be nonsense. An opening bid of a player exchange? This isn't football manager.
It would make more sense if it was a lowish cash bid made with the intention of provoking a transfer request.
Bit miffed though as BBC reporting has me a bit worried. Pretty much the only media outlet that can be relied upon.Last edited by Sparked_26; 07-17-2013, 05:31 AM.

Yeah you know there's something behind it when BBC are reporting it, they don't usually put up a story unless they have some solid proof and they never put up a transfer rumour that's just come from papers like The Sun or Daily Mail.
Having said that, all of these stories are out there yet none of them have any direct quotes from either Rooney, United or Chelsea. The only quote floating around is the one where Moyes said he needed Rooney as backup to RVP but that's got nothing to do with a transfer. I'm guessing we'll hear more about it as it unfolds today.
