I personally don't see the fun in watching a team pass the ball around the midfield/defence for the majority of the game and then eventually beating teams 5-0 every week.

They beat everyone that was put in front of them which included the current European champions. It's just annoying that everyone seems to think the only way to play football nowadays is the Barca way and if you don't play it then you're labelled anti-football.
I'm not a fan of how Stoke play but they have a certain style and it works for them so who am i to say they shouldn't be allowed to play that way?

The win is legit, but how they did it is shameful. That was such a fluke as they were completely overmatched. Legit win and big upset, but shameful hideous football.

Who says it isn't legitimate? Chelsea won, good for them, but bunkering isn't most people's idea of good football. I find it quite funny that the people defending Chelsea's style of play then call Barsa and Spain boring, talk about hypocritical.

Chelsea's CL win was a lesson in humility if anything.
Drogba playing a pretty much a whole game as an auxiliary left-back. Bosingwa playing as centre-back despite being terrible as a full-back.
It's obviously worth noting that were we actually scored 2 goals with 10 men at the Nou Camp.
It is worth noting that we were 3-1 down against Napoli.
It is worth noting we played a champion's league final away from home.
And it is not a fluke as by and large we have had the edge on Barcelona in Champion's league meetings. Barcelona haven't beaten Chelsea in 7 games.
If we got Barca again over two legs, we'd play two left-backs and do exactly the same thing and could win. Tough shit. Barcelona need to come up with the answers, everybody parks the bus against Barcelona but we just do it more effectively obviously.
To use a bus analogy. Barcelona pick the ball up bring it onto the bus and shut the doors. All risk is eliminated from their game. No crosses, hardly any long passes or long shots. No throw ins that go forwards and no long goal kicks. It is boring, imo. With the emphasis on ball retention at any cost.
It is only fun when Messi explodes. No one is saying that it doesn't require oceans of talent. But it's still not the most exciting way to play footy. I would never watch Barca play but I do watch Real.Last edited by Sparked_26; 09-08-2012, 11:03 AM.
