Cleverly looks good.. tbh the whole team is very good and once Rafeal came on fro Evra we had an average age of 22 on the field. The team will be winning the league but will not be beating barca in Europe imo.. even Sniedjer wouldn't change that. So you might aswell give Anderson/Cleverly the time to develop rather then splashing 35-40m on a 27 year old

The main worry is De Gea.. the shot yesterday he should have been saving.. what is worrying though joe.. is that last season in La Liga he let in the most goals outside the box (11). So it doesn't appear to be a one off..

His positioning for both was poor, the defence should have done better but you can't be letting in that 2nd goal on a regular basis

I'd rather push the youngsters through than go ahead and spend ridiculous money on Sneijder. Anderson has everything to prove this season and now Scholes is gone he will get more game time, he's a bit of a fan favourite too so it will be good to see him develop. Clev just looks like a great young player with so much confidence already, his passing was crisp and he reads the game well, can't wait to see more of him.

Though i still disagree about Carrick, even when fully fit last season you can see he's lost his pace and ability to get forward and contribute to the attack. I know people will come in and say he's a defensive midfielder but when have United ever played with an out and out defensive midfielder before Carrick? We have box to box players like Keane and Fletcher but we have never needed someone to just sit in front of the defence and pass sideways. Carrick before this season just gone wasn't even a defensive midfielder in my eyes, he was a completely different player more like a deeper lying playmaker. I don't know how he got so slow and reckless with his passing. He scored 0 goals last season in all competitions, he always manages to score usually but he's just stopped going forward completely. The main thing he had going for him was his passing ability but i don't see him doing anything nowadays apart from passing sideways to a player more capable of passing it on to the forwards.

You could see with Anderson and Cleverly our attack is much more effective, our midfield is more dynamic and we really didn't miss having a DMF. We scored three goals and conceded none without one. He's already 30 years old and looking like a donkey so i say drop him or sell him to a mid table Premier League side.

As for De Gea, i think he's too young. He made some decent stops and will get better with time but right now i'm not sure how reliable he's going to be, though we're always going to compare him to how solid VDS was so it's kind of unfair really. He doesn't even speak English very well yet.

O yeah, keep in mind De Gea doesn't speak much English, he basically just started to learn some so it's hard to communicate with the defenders, hand gestures can only go so far.

De Gea is really good but he is inexperience. Its hard to find a nasty goalkeeper at that age they tend to be 25+

Its going to be even harder on him since he's playing in England, few mistakes and the papers are going to shred him to bits.

Neuer who is a top keeper in the world f'ed up yesterday, came all the way out to punch the ball and cost Bayern the game. Bayern SHOULD of won but couldn't convert and a keeper mistake cost them the 3 pts.

Good post and i agree 100%. Even Casillas was an error prone keeper at the start of his career. Real Madrid even dropped him at one point.

You and the rest of the supporters need to realise we have to look in the bargain basement for players. Mediocre players go for 20+ mil nowadays and we don't have that kind of money. But even i will ask questions if we don't sign a solid centre back in this transfer window.

Cleverly + Anderson in the center of midfield should be the new starting partnership, they were both bossing it yesterday. Young, Jones and Smalling were all pretty flawless. Welbeck was great if he can consistently perform like that then get rid of Berba and have him as back up to Chicharito.

Seemed like when all the young players came on we started playing better more flowing football, they started using the one touch intricate stuff and it worked a treat.

De Gea i am still not sold on, 20 year old Goalkeeper in the Premier League is risky he should have saved Dzeko's shot it wasn't even in the corner. He's young and will learn but hopefully he won't make too many mistakes in his debut season.

Also, get rid of Carrick. It's no surprise that we actually got things done when he went off for a 21 year old Cleverly. He's so slow and contributes nothing to the attack, or defence for that matter.

I liked what i saw yesterday we dominated the game and played some wonderful football at times, the second goal was just unbelievable.
