    It was all to do with the transfer fee and not adapting to the Premier League. We paid too much for him and it was a burden. Kinda like Berbatov you know he's a great player but with that kind of transfer fee people expect to see a world class performance week in week out and you never get that when you pay so much for 1 player.

    He was a decent player but he clearly struggled in the Premier League. If he didn't cost so much then he probably would have stayed at United because he didn't want to leave Old Trafford.

      I don't think it was the pace, just the positioning and in an alien environment such as the premiership.

        Plus he moved round clubs every 2 years so i don't know how you can settle somwhere and play your best football. He's one of the most expensive footballers ever because of all the transfers he's had. Only Anelka and C.Ronaldo have cost more.

                    WTF are you talking about? Veron had just had his best ever season playing in an advanced attacking midfield role for Lazio. When Utd signed him he was an attacking midfielder. To sit there and say "Fergie played him out of position" is just an ignorant and/or ****** comment.

                    When Chelsea signed him and played him a little deeper he was still ****. The guy just couldn't cope with the fast pace and quick tempo of the Premier League like many Serie A hype jobs before him.
