Man U did pretty well.

I don't know what else they could have done. If anyone had a bad game for United it was Valencia. He wasn't dangerous enough, and a bit sluggish. But the man broke his leg not so long ago.

But centre-midfield was always going to be an issue.

Considering how the whole team played, could can you say carrick is rubbish? He was actually putting them under pressure and intercepting passes...

I thought we improved when Scholes came on tbh.. Carrick didn't play bad though.. I thought Valencia was off the pace obviously and Chicarito barely did much apart from being offside (would have liked to seen Owen)

The issue is that Valencia/Park/Carrick are just not the type of players needed to beat Barca. They are just not comfortable with the ball vs Barca's pressing game. Hopefully the addition of Modric/Sneidjer and maybe Anderson coming on can help us

Did you watch the game with your eyes open? he was the worst United player on the pitch for me, United might aswell of been playing with 10 men.

I didn't see Carrick put his foot in once. The Barca players were side stepping (edge of the box)him ridiculous easy at times. I think one of the goals might of come as a result of him not intercepting a pass, and did you see how late he was on that Barca player? maybe you say he stopped an attack, but for me, that just showed how off the pace he was all night long.

Not saying it changes anything but the loss of Fletcher (both finals) has hurt.. i know Barca are better then Arsenal but Man United's great run of results vs them has a lot to do with him. Infact the recent loss we were without him

Watch it back, closely, and trust me, he was virtually anonymous at times.

I dont blame Valencia for not having a great game, his central midfielders were losing the midfield battle, and United kept hitting the long ball most of the time, the foward thinking players were working off scraps whilst under pressure from Barca players.

Carrick and Giggs put up no resistance in CM, which is where Barca are strongest. Arsenal closed them out better than that down the middle, even in the second leg before RVP got sent off.

You say this every single time, yet united win the premier league with carrick playing every game, even if scholes, fletcher giggs are all fit, carrick is on that team sheet with 1 of them, Why dont you ever realise this?

I saw the ball your talking about that he ddint intercept....but they still had to go on and score....and it was evras fault, he got drawn out to messi...vidic thought Pedro was being marked by evra....and then he turns and see's hes all alone....

You can keep blaming carrick for everything, If anything Valencia was good getting back, but did nothing going forward...hernandez needs to work on his dribbling cos its awful, and he was constantly offside when he shouldn't have been

People can keep criticizing carrick, but hes gonna keep appearing in our team sheet every game, and were gonna still win trophies....

And also we played a 4-4-2 against a team playing 4-5-1....with their front men rotating...

rooney dropped back alot...but its still not the same as a Center Mid being in there....And you expect carrick to have coped with Xavi, Iniesta, Messi...alone

That's because there wasn't any controversy. If Rooney got send off for nothing when the score was 1-1, you'd be saying the same thing we did.

Barca were just outstanding tonight, no shame in losing to that team. They are like a fifa game.

Arsenal played 4-5-1 so crammed the midfield....Same as united did when we last beat Barca over 2 legs....
