When was the last time we had so many youngsters like this?

I think our u17 won the Europeans last year against Spain.

    Pea**** and Brooking for England.

England's youngsters will flourish for their respective clubs but when put together for International games i don't see them doing much, i don't see a future World Cup/Euro winning squad there.

I think Wilshere and McEachran are the best technical players we've had in years, imo

I think things must be improving. Both guys are pretty small, so the days of the big lad coming through might be at an end.

It's a shame Chelsea don't play McEachran more at one point it would have been better if he started ahead of Essien who has had an absolute nightmare of a season thus far.

These players are coming up from being under the guidance of John Pea****, who won the Europeans with the u17 team. He preaches a short and direct passing game, kinda like Spain and attributes that to their success.

Him and Brooking have been trying for years to make people take notice.

            They are technical.

I'm sick of the Gerrard's and Lampard's from an England pov (Lamps is brilliant for Chelsea). These are great players but they aren't well-rounded footballers and they won't be able to dominate possession with similar players around them.

I also think Gerrard is brainless. Walcott gets abused for having no brain but Gerrard is just as bad. What he has in his locker is hero-mode which is when he will destroy someone single-handedly and there is nothing anyone can do about it.

What we're lacking is some good young defenders.

                Cahill is nice and quick.

                Gibbs is okay at Arsenal.

I don't worry about defenders really. England has always done defenders well - especially centre-halves. Our centre-halves no how to defend from the very early ages, our grass roots football might be basic but it makes proper defenders.

That and centre-half is the easiest position on the pitch I don't care what anyone says.

For the first time in a while, we seem to have quite a few technical players coming through.

The most talented ones might be...

Rodwell, Wilshere, McEachran, Ravel Morrison, Aneke.

But we also have kids like Wickham, and Nick Powell, who Wenger tried to sign for 2 mil. I dont know much about Powell, accept he apparently has good technique, close control, now I know this might be a Crewe fan going overboard, but I read how one Crewe supporter compared him to Messi, although that is probably in terms of style, what with his apparent close control, ability to drift with the ball.

Alex Chamberlain, Raheem Sterling, Gibbs, Nathan Chalobah, Shelvey, Jay Emanuel Thomas seem like other promising youngsters.

Apparently Gus Poyet lad plays for England to, never seen him, but if he's half as good as his dad, could be another good player for England (Diego Poyet). Arsenal have a talented defensive midfield player called Emanuel Frimpong, but he has African roots and has said, that he might consider playing for his home land, although I dont think he's made a decision either way yet.

I reckon the next England side will certainly be more cohesive, cause there will be technical players in it with better control.

Agree. England players are if nothing else, brave, willing to put their head in-between the ball and the opposition players foot.

Defenders are essentially there to defend, to put their body on the line, to be decisive, show that no nonsense approach, which suits the average England player down to the ground.
