So if you have one black dude at work and you had to describe him to someone else (a non black person ) is the right thing now to go around the houses? Yeah he's tall, wears a green jacket to work. Nice guy! Or even if you were describing a black to another black dude.

You would just say yeah he's black and then throw some more adjectives in there.

Or is that now seen as reductive in some way because probably more adjectives would be used between people of the same race describing another person of the same race to each other?

It is a can of worms. I agree with the concept that to say you dont see colour completely undermines race issues and is a nonsense that fundamentally diminishes the impact of prejudice in an off hand way.

But at the same time there is no universally acknowledged discourse that sensitively addresses a circumstance like that that would appease every person.

My default position at would always be to give people a break and try and suss out intent and not the words themselves.
