Who can forget his "just been shot" reaction to a trip by Beckham..

The Premier League teams also have FAR more money than any other league, and they are all currently terrible. Atletico's wage bill is almost half of Newcastle's...

That poor La Liga is looking to have the 4 finalists in both major European tournaments, and Barca aren't one of them.

Simeone won La Liga and got to the Champions League final with a wage bill of £54million, a few million higher than Leicester. Their annual income is also less than Leicester.

Simeone tries to be involved in the game as if a player himself and it looks idiotic.
Wenger hasn't won a big trophy in a decade, the Arsenal fans want him out and he is the biggest excuse maker in football. Van Gaal is also far from calm and collected.

Simeone is extremely involved in the game (Ferguson also kicked every ball, Mourinho used to be that way), it's a togetherness he has with his team and it is a huge key to their success. What he's done in the last 4 years is the best in football, being involved in everything from the training ground, to the nutrition, to the game itself...it's fantastic.

What Leicester proves is that buying success doesn't work.

What used to work is buying your nearest rivals best players.

Villa went to 6th were looking to push on and between them the sides above them purchased their entire midfield. Martin O Neill quit and then villa never recovered.

That's right, that was him as a player lol, I forgot about that actually. Shows his character and it still shines through. It was pathetic to see him last night.

              Don't talk rubbish.

He bought most of the players, he set up the system, he drills the shape, positioning and transition work into them on the training ground, he's responsible for their league leading fitness.

Atletico hadn't finished in the top 3 for almost a decade when he took over, in the 4 years since they have won La Liga (joint top currently as well), been to two Champions League finals, won both domestic cups, won the Europa League, won the European Super Cup...with an income and wage bill on par with Leicester City.

Not questioning his success but you make it sound like he created miracles singlehandedly. He isn't some legend like Alex Ferguson, Mourinho, etc.. there's a difference.

I agree, people seem to be going overboard with Simeone. He's a hipsters dream i guess. He's taken over from Klopp in that regard.

What's the difference between him and Mourinho, at this stage of his career in terms of being at a decent club? He has singlehadedly turned Atletico from La Liga also-ran's to champions and a European force.

La Liga, UEFA cup, two Champions League Finals, Super Cup, Copa Del Rey, Spanish Cup...in 4 years, on a relatively small budget. Beating Real and Barca regularly, beating the likes of Juventus and Bayern, sporting one of the best defensive records in world football.

Jose's 3 years in Spain are less successful than Simeone's Atletico spell, despite having a budget that is literally more than 5x as much. Simeone is only now getting the credit he deserves, despite it being years in the making.

This is not true only City are near barca/madrid in terms of wage bill..

The tv money in england is huge like 9bn or so.. United got around 111m of that. Barca/Madrid got close to 200m from a deal nowhere near as big as that because they take all the money for themselves..

Is it any wonder.. ****e uncompetitive league outside of the top 3.. gives all 3 teams a big edge in europe?
