I always think Welbeck looks like a good player until he is in the penalty area then it all goes to s.hit.

Pace is vital though. Ozil will prefer Welbeck to Giroud.

Arsenal looked average towards the back end of last season when they had no players running ahead of the ball but Ramsey.

He is not a bad fit IMO even though it is still funny because he is not a glamour buy.

Huntelaar is as slow as they come. He would not have worked, IMO.

Welbeck is also great at pressing from the front. If him and Walcott and Alexis press well the Arsenal should be able to pick up some cheap goals.

We signed Alexis for pace. We need someone who can stick the ball in the net.

Ozil would prefer Welbeck but he'll probably be playing centre-half next week.

I said it before and I'll say it again. Arsenal will win the league title now with SWAG up front.

Sanogo, Welbeck, Alexis, and Giroud.

If the club came out and admitted that they only signed Welbeck to make up that brilliant acronym, then I'll say fair play

Think we actually got a good deal with Negredo after my initial anger. He wanted to go so there wasn't much point keeping him here.

Especially if the reported fee that they'll have to pay (£24m) is correct. For a guy not far off 30 who hasn't scored since January that's a great deal for us.

Need to put Kun/Jovetic in cotton wool now. Especially with Yaya off to the African cup of nations again in Jan.

What's getting lost in all this striker nonsense is that we've failed to sign a defensive midfielder or experienced centre-back cover. Chambers has looked promising but he was supposed to have been bought as a right-back- or we let Jenko go for no reason? We're relying on a 19 year old if we get an injury in defence. We literally have no other central defenders.

The midfield one is worse than the striker situation for me. We got butt****ed and overrun in midfield by City, Chelsea and Liverpool last season because our players are too brittle. We have not addressed that at all.

City next. If we get turned over, it's going to be pandemonium. And not in a good way.
