Just to clear the air. I lived in California for 2/3rds of my life.

California does blackouts because they, in the olden days prior to Gray Davis, made the brilliant decision to allow the electric companies to build infrastructure in and near heavily forested areas to support the growth they were expecting - but they never thought to enforce safety standards against fires.

The blackouts work like your surge protector. In situations where there's a risk of a spark, it just shuts down. They don't fix the problem because they can't, it's too late.

I remember when I was there in around 2011 or so, we were out of power for almost a day because (according to reports) some tech guy cut the main cable that runs to that part of the city; turns out it was down near the border, southern San Diego. Now, why would you have a critical line coming from that far south where you have a single point of failure? Because when they built things out, they didn't want the power plants anywhere visible, and (this was prior to me being born) apparently, they had the chance to build an ocean platform power plant but declined because they didn't want to pollute it (only to decades later pollute it anyway).

The climate change people would tell you that the number of fires in the West is due to global warming - it's not.

Nearly every single fire that's ever spread is due to one of three things that happened:

* Campfire/campground idiots
* Lit cigarettes
* Arson

But it's the climate change nuts who are causing the fires so that it convinces gullible people that there's a climate issue - when the truth is, those fires don't happen in every state. They happen in states with nutcases (California/Oregon/Washington).

The minority rest are storms/high winds knocking down power cables, intentional burning of trees for firebreaks where it gets out of control, and lightning strikes.

Our economy will return to ***** numbers under ***** and the Demo****, it will then plummet to irrational and deadly depths of despair. Far from what we would be experiencing under *****s economy. They threw everything, tried anything (and everything) to bring him down. But they failed.
