You'll win more fights doing that trust me. Any normal person who hasn't trained but is just generally tough in fights won't stand a chance if you land cleanly. Body shots are easier to get in close range too instead of trying to hit for the head. Most people who don't know how to fight will wildly swing a fist any old how to your face.

It annoys me alot to be honest because when someone is knocking the wind out of you your punches lose there snap alot more. I have based my style on James Toneys and i've found it good for defending body blows and the shoulder is used for defense of the chin. You can take alot of hits on the arms but the odd one or two always get through and i know about it.
The only thing that his style leaves you open for is right hands upstairs...is that correct? I love that style. It's very effective if your reflexes are good and you can roll the shoulder. It also looks slick.

boxing is a handy weapon, but i find in street fights it's very reckless, no style, and just swingnig haymakers like mad.

If you step back and measure your shots it could be very handy, but if he wrestles you or tackles you to the ground, thenthrow all that out the window, plus it's street fighting remeber, you could get mobbed or smashed by like 7 people, then your boxing counts for ****.

Also i feel a good push kick or head kick to start a street fight is always a winner, because when you are in a street fight, the person you are fighting always ecpects you to throw a punch first, but if you throw a kick it sort of puts them off, i mean it's worked for me.

I can see how that'd work. A good hard straight kick to the stomach while they're rushing you will make em think again.

Yeah although i use the left shoulder alot to defend my chin. I get alot of hits on the top of my head from right hands. I like it because the one-two comes so naturally. The style can be very slick, it's a laid back style too and thats another reason why i like it. Defensivley it's sound and offensivley it's sound too. Left hooks are a cool counter for that style too.

What kind of kick Yarmez? The only time i kick is if they are on the floor and then it's in the back or stomach only.

Definitely straighter punches work best in real fights. Unschooled fighters swing. It is instinct. Straighter punches will get there first.

Solar plexus shots are good. As long as you hit them right.
