Sony will never lose even if that system costs $500. They've captured the customers forever and have made them loyal. Nintendo will always be viewed as the "kiddie system", XBOX as the system in between who is ideal for online gaming, and PS3, the most superior who has alot of variety including online play. The games in the PS3 is enough to know that PS3 takes this again.

Playstation has definitely defined itself as the superior system. It's loose content policy has given it the leeway necessary to outdistance Nintendo as the more provocative and interesting system. Nintendo will continue to fail as long as they continue to make their own video games. XBox may be the equal to Sony XBox is clearly better graphic wise and overall gaming experience. However, Playstation's title are significantly better than Microsoft's XBox.

To the two posts above mine (a_s and Manny), I would definitely disagree with the both of you.

Microsoft has all the money in the world to throw at any project they are involved in, and I believe they will definitely overtake Sony at number 1, if not on the 360 vs the ps3 then on the next generation of systems after this. Sony has ****ed up a lot of things it had going for it dating back to the betamax days. Hell, they even had a stronghold on the Blu ray vs HDDVD competition and ****ed that up. The UMD format, the ****ty file conversion format for their "mp3" players, etc. the list goes on and on for their ****ups, and I think this is just going to be another notch on their long list of ****ups.

        1) graphics: Does anyone give a **** at this point? The graphics are so advanced on these systems we are talking the difference of shading or some other miniscule feature that makes the graphics on one system "blow away" graphics on another. The graphics really can't get much better at this point, which is why nintendo made the right move and tried to take it to a different level and actually innovate rather than just increase processing power.

        2) games: exclusivity is starting to become a thing of the past. Resident evil, GTA, etc are all starting to be released on other systems. Xbox also has some exclusives like Halo and fable that drew loyal fans. I don't see the difference in titles where the ps has a big advantage over the xbox.

        3) controllers: The xbox controller is way more comfortable and ergonomic. I know that is just an opinion but it makes a difference after a long session of gaming.

As far as capturing the customers forever and making them loyal: the only real reason that sony captured the customers is because sega ****ed up on the pricing of the saturn by pricing it too high, giving sony a chance to steal a lot of customers at $100 less. What happened to all of sega's "loyal" customers? You guessed it. They said "**** that" and bought a PS. Now the **** has come full circle and sony is about to lose out because of the high price tag and give nintendo a chance to get back in the mix when they are long trailing sony and MS, or just give MS the rest of the market and throw away their #1 position just like sega 10 years ago.

I don't think so. Exactly give me the numbers of people who bought an XBOX 360 since its released and today. Not alot even for it's reasonable price copmared to a PS3. The fact that Microsoft released their 360 much early despite only a few years of the Xbox gracing the market tells us that Microsoft was losing and is desperate to grab the market. Seems familiar? Yep. Sega did the same with the Dreamcast by releasing it in '99 to try and beat the PS1 and possibly get a head start on the next gen console war. XBOX is going to get crushed by PS3. More developers still believe that Sony has the most customers so even if the titles aren't exactly exclusive, those titles will always be released on the PS3 first. No one's even buying the 360 right now.

About Nintendo, I believe that their target market will always be kids below 15yr old. The only thing that will keep them in the battle is the fact that they're unique. When XBOX and PS3 is almost identical to what they've got to offer, Nintendo stands out with their purpose of satisfying the younger audience which we have plenty of.

Sega back then had a tough competition in Nintendo. Sega was nowhere in the success of what Sony is getting right now. Sony has been running this scene since mid 1990's and running it strong at that. Sony's loyal fans are no way in comparison of those Sega had. Sega competed with Nintendo while Sony kills competition. I doubt that these "fans" will start jumping to the XBOX wagon now.

most ppl who play video game systems are kids no matter how u look at it, and during the upcoming holiday season theres gonna b three choices...xbox360 which is idk 399? and ps3 499, and the new nintendo which still hasnt gotten a price but has promised to b the cheapest of the three, do the math, since ps3 has gone overboard with the price this time more xboxes n revolutions will b sold, 600 for the suped up version is wayyy too much, just wait till the initial price goes down then see what happens, ps3 doesnt even have the exclusiveness of gta to hold onto anymore, i just wanna see what the new twisted metal will look like

What do you mean no one is buying the 360 right now? They have sold close to 5 million. FN 3 sold better on the 360 then any other console. No console has sold faster then the 360, not even the PS 2. That is mainly because it was the first console to have a worldwide launch. The 360 will sell at least 8 million maybe 10 before the PS 3 comes out then when the PS 3 comes out drez is right graphics and games are too equal for the casual gamer to spend 200 more bucks for a console with just launch titles when they have 80 games on the 360.

Atari, Nintendo, Sega, and Sony all captured mareket share who is to say MS is not next. Halo and GTA were the best selling games last gen and one is exclusive to the 360 and the other has exclusive features.

Also sleezy most people who play video games are adults.
