OK, I see how it is. LOL!
In the US
In Europe
Yes
They were already prety close in software with Sony having an 18 month headstart and the same price. So yes... May I add hell before the yes?
You better Ask Billy

In software, I don't think so.
Europe, I honestly don't know.

I stated on these boards that Sony would at least sell more consoles while MS would have an advantage in software. I said this before the price was announced. So I conceded a while ago that Sony had the mainstream but they don’t have it locked to the point where they can overcome such a large head start with that price while blatantly copying what MS and Nintendo are doing.
After the first five months of hardcore gamers, rich folks and die hard Sony fans buying the console if Sony does not drop the price MS will be a strong front runner in the US and Canada. This has nothing to do with me owning a 360 that’s just basic business.
The reason why I call FF a joke is because after all of these years its never had its "Resident Evil 5" Its never had that game that rewrote the genre and reached out to new fans who werent sick of its style years ago. Res evil was getting pretty stale so they shook things up with FF its always been RPG lite, strategy lite, 3rd grade story cheese. With Oblivion its action heavy, story mature, and roleplaying is where it makes FF look like a joke.
basic business theory states that the theories of supply and demand will dictate price. when competition is introduced, there is usually a drop in prices to compensate in order to sell your product. of course there's goin to be a price drop by SONY and MS for a number of reasons besides competition. but that'll be the major reason. with the advent of new technology, prices should drop. one of the bigger reasons that SONY has the huge price is the blu-ray player. but considering it might be the cheapest blu-ray player out on the market, that might make a new market share. it's too early to say that MS will dominate sales cause it has a lower price point. that'd be like saying the Wii will dominate over both cause it costs lower than its competitor that offers a "similar" product. "similar" doesn't even really work here, as there are fundamental differences in each system that every consumer will look at before purchasing something that costs this much. and that's what will determine the new market share. the basics work, but not to the point where you can speculate your market share. there are too many variables.
Resident Evil 5? not out yet. it was announced for the PS3. but i'm gonna assume you mean RE4. FF has done a lot for console RPG's in general. i think it redefined the genre by being able to make it as one of the most, if not, THE most successful RPG series ever. there are epic stories, endearing characters and usually, new features for every installment. fact of the matter is that SQUARE has put out a quality product everytime, even if the masses didn't like it. saying that something is a joke is like saying that it won't even appeal to a die hard fan or it's something that isn't worth everyone's time. one of the reasons you stated that oblivion is better than any FF game is the 200+ hours of gameplay. if i wanted that i'd play an MMORPG. not everyone wants to spend that much time on one game. but it is an investment. but what happens when i tire of it? action heavy play? FFXII continues on with the same type of interface of FFXI where you still control the character during a battle and are never just standing idly by. i have no clue what you mean by role playing. if you mean with how involved you get with the storyline based on your position (if you're thrown into the world as the protagonist, or if you're just playing the protagonist with an established identity already), then most FF games have epic stories where you can get involved with the characters and understand their plight. if you were to ask most gamers what their favorite scene from an RPG game was, i'd bet that most of them would reference an FF game.
you're entitled to your opinion, but i've said it before, there's too much speculation in all of this. no one can say what system is "better" til after the systems have lived out their lives.

halo and oblivion are both also pc titles
so they arent truly exclusive either
knights of the old republic is another good example
also im not really a final fantasy fan but to not give that game its due is ****** cause that game sells 1000 times better than oblivion or any elder scrolls title ever will and its got more mass appeal than oblivion
show the numbers on ff games and oblivion lmao
and youre simply wrong on xbox vs ps2 in trying to imply xbox did anything better than ps2
ps2 sold 100 million consoles
xbox sold in the 30s
sony turned a profit with ps2
microsoft lost 1 billion to date with xbox
Doom 3, Halflife 2, KOTOR 1, and 2, Deus Ex 2, Jade Empire, Chronicles of Rid****, Fable, Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio Future, Shenmue 2, both Halos, Panzer Dragon Orta,
doom 3? lmao
crazy taxi?
fable was one of those hyped games that didnt really live up to the hype but yeah i suppose it sold real damn well although again it was also a pc title
also you talked of loyalty or something
when it comes to computers yeah people say microsoft i guess but consoles or electronics people say sony
come on you see a dvd player and you got a choice between samsung pioneer or sony youll grab the sony if they are all the same with the same basic features cause everyone knows sony makes good stuff
yeah microsoft got tons of money but if they were to lose 1 billion again they will get out of the gaming biz im telling you cause they gotta legally keep shareholders happy and if on 2 consoles they lose 1 billion they aint gonna go xbox720 or nextbox or whatever they would try calling it
they either have to turn a profit or show a dramatic improvement in loss with the promise of turning a profit with the next machine
thats gonna be quite an uphill battle and i definitely dont predict them to turn a profit with this xbox360
im not saying microsoft will go under cause i dont care what any of them do
if nintendo sony and microsoft all bomb horribly with these consoles none of them are going out of business
maybe they wont make the next console but they wont go out of business just will change their business

And that has nothing to do with games, just how I fell about Sony these days. I still have a 27" Wega and some other Sony products, but in general I am taking Samsung over Sony.
