Alan Wake... what should I know?

It had every potential to be a GOAT game but ended up average.

They had a great idea
great graphics for the time
great story

But the implementation failed, hard.
The first couple of hours are great, then it turns into a point and shoot game - which is such a ****ing shame.

Well Grand Champ, I've made it through episode 4 and although I respect your opinion, I thoroughly disagree.

The game is like playing a movie, with just enough drama and cinematics to produce a compelling storyline and plot. it started off a lil, boring but I've grown to appreciate the unorthodox qualities of the game.

Just beat Alan Wake last night. The game is good. The ending was good. However it clearly wasn't done. There should have been a part 2 and I do believe there is on xbox arcade. I might have to look into that.

I'm glad for you, I wanted to love this game so much, but it just didn't do it for me. It's by no means a bad game but it left me with a lot to me desired.

For a game in production for 5 years the magic of the first few chapters turns into a flash light - shoot - read page formula too quick for me. Like Squeal said, it struggles to find an identity
Is it a survival horror game? Action game? Adventure game? detectives game? It don't know.

However - good ting that you enjoyed it Bush. It has a pretty hardcore fanbase.
