[PLEASE HELP] Alan Wake... what should I know?

About to start this game, any suggestions??

It had every potential to be a GOAT game but ended up average.

    They had a great idea
    great graphics for the time
    great story

    But the implementation failed, hard.
The first couple of hours are great, then it turns into a point and shoot game - which is such a ****ing shame.

    Flash your light
    Shoot

    Shoot
    Flash your light
    Shoot

    Flash your light

Wow, well thanks for the response brother. 83 views and you're the only one that bothered.

I came into this thread several times. Couldn't give you a response because I never played it, it's an X-Box/PC exclusive. Notice when you talk about PS3 or multiplatform games you get a lot of responses.

great game, great story but its not the full story and it doesn't look like there will be a sequel so if you don't mind another Shenmue and you're ok with cliffhangers then you will love this game

that was my only issue with game

Decent enough but it's not scary enough for a horror game and the action is not quite compelling enough for an action game. It has some neat effects like reading events in this manuscript that then unfold after you read them and a really cool fight on a full size rock festival stage but really struggles from not actually knowing what it is.

The only genuinely scary game is Silent Hill 2. I've never played any other horror game that scared me. Alan Wake doesn't look scary at all.

I never got very far in this, game never grabbed my attention. What I played was decent enough.

I don't know if it was 2, but Silent Hill was scary. Especially when you get to that part where you can barely see anything and your radio has the white noise constantly playing and $h!t is jumping out at you from the dark.

Just beat episodes 1 and 2 and so far I can dig it. Luv the episode ending and songs. So far it's almost like both playing, reading and watching a movie.
