ha, if anyone else told me they lost because of slippery shoes, id tell them to eat ****, but in your case, i cant really see any untested amateur knocking you around the ring.

look on the bright side - next time you box, youre gonna look like youve improved 1000 % lol

Your style you must adapt to southpaws.

Because i seen your vid when sparring and it looks like your fav punch is a hook.

e****ally if this southpaw have a long reach you would be in trouble.

Definatly. I don't have much trouble against orthodox guys with a good left hook. I always have problems defending against the straight right - always getting tagged by the thing!

Anyways, congratulations on having your first fight. It is good to get the first one out of the way, and the win/loss outcome isn't all that important for the first few fights, even if you feel that you should have won.
              1 point for a punch , 2 for a knockdown

                    **** that. I'm retiring undefeated.

Actually, you know what? I still hate fighting. I enjoy boxing, but I ****ing hate fighting. I'm going to take the next year or so and work on my actual boxing skills -- like, fundamentals. I'm thinking, take a month and just work on slips. And then another month and just work on rolling. And another six months on footwork.

I know now that I can deliver a serious beating while taking one, and that I can keep my cool and even show that I'm man enough to still have sportsmanship and compassion while I'm blind in one eye and tasting my own blood. Now I need to learn how to box. I sure as hell am going to become a better boxer before I ever set foot in the ring again. I'm thinking it'll be a year, maybe more, if ever.

I think you'd be surprised how much better you can be in just say 4 months time of training, but you need to do at least light sparring to really integrate your footwork, headmovement, parrying etc. into a full package. Remember, there is such a thing as light sparring and don't be afriad to remind your sparring partner that you're not into getting into any gym wars. You've had a rough time with that last fight but you should review the footage, see what mistakes you made, and learn from it. Don't quit fighting now, you are just starting! Or at least, give yourself some time before you make up your mind to quit.
