At my gym, it's always been 1 minute rounds for the skills bouts. This time, they did 2 minute rounds. I had to change my whole plan at the eleventh hour. "****! I have to actually BOX?"

that's a helluva shiner u got there. that was no single shots either. u got caught with all other type of shots, not just 1...i see left hook, straight right hand, and jab damage. that from sparring or a fight?

****ed up. reminds me of my boy keenan hickman who lost his last fight. he was like 30-6 and putting a beatin on this guy, then the fight went to the other guy in the 2nd round, 3rd round it was about even, keenan was teeing off landing big hooks getting the better of this guy, then he dislocated his shoulder, got hit and knocked down, and they gave the guy the knockdown even tho he dislocated his ****. so now keenan's 30-7...

i remember a fight on fnf recently when the guys shoe wouldnt stop slipping his trainer duct taped it sticky side down.

yeah that sucks. but the thing with this is the guy only really hit me the last 15seconds of the last round aahaha. and while his face was all red(maybe bruised) i didnt have nothing on my face. i blocked pretty much all of his shots. oh well **** happens,im not mad causei knew it was the shoes.

Maybe you'll meet the guy sometime down the line again and you can show him how it should have gone. He probably thinks he had you hurt and stumbling from his power.

yeah he did cause everytime i would slip he would run to the other corner and the ref would clean my gloves off. he had no power.ahahaha.theres another ight in 2 weeks which i will jump in. with brand new shoes.ahaha

In amateur boxing you don't actually get any extra points for knockdowns. At least as far as I know... Was this a toughman contest or something like that? Were you wearing headgears?

Anyways, congratulations on having your first fight. It is good to get the first one out of the way, and the win/loss outcome isn't all that important for the first few fights, even if you feel that you should have won.

Why was the fight 1 minute rounds? Even little kids fight 1½ minute rounds here, and everyone over the age of 14 fight 2 minute rounds.

That's from my first -- and probably my last -- fight. Contemplating retiring undefeated. ****, it hurt. He mostly hit my gloves, and my thumb kept hitting my eye. We're both southpaws.
