    Closing fist on impact question

Hello, I learned from my coach to only close my fist on impact before punching. How does this work if I am throwing multiple punches at once? Say Im throwing a double jab for example. Would I unclench my hand as I retract back my first jab to my guard, and clench again on impact when it goes back out? This feels a little awkward to do. Also, any drills that will help me improve on this? And also doesn’t this have a risk of breaking your hands if your opponent moves into the punch?

If I am wrong, somebody please correct me but

Close your hand but have it relaxed when throwing and squeeze hard juist before hitting the target. After hitting relax your hand.
Train it without gloves on a heavy bag (without hitting the bag hard!), you will see better what you are trying to achieve.
Throw with the closed fist but with fingertips just lightly touching your palm and than squeeze to a tight fist just upon impact. After punching don't completely open your hand, don't extend the 4 fingers fully. Don't go any higher (more open) than the tip your thumb.

Hope this makes sense. If it doesn't maybe somebody else can improve on this.

keep fist closed, not loose, clench on impact, aim to hit with first two knuckles.
no need to go too tense with that for every jab.
it may feel awkward now but it gets automatic over time.

if you wrap your hands properly, the wrap should tighten your fist up for you with very little effort as soon as your knuckles come in contact. Thats why it's bound the way it is, inbetween the fingers.

Allows you to basically keep your hands very loose and hit harder by not being so tense.
