    Any Vegans in the Building?

Diagnosed high cholesterol, very high ldl cholesterol, overweight.

Need to switch over to vegan diet, but don’t need to entirely.
Wanted to know if I can at least include maybe fish and boiled egg whites in my vegan diet to get that dere protein.

A vegan diet works wonders especially for people with high cholesterol.
Been Vegan for 3 years now and as long as you eat a whole foods diet you are good to go.

I wouldnt recommend eating fish and egg whites if your condition is already severe. But cutting out the worst culprits of high cholesterol ( meat, eggs and dairy) is far better.

I can recommend watching mic the vegan as he produces videos with established research to read through yourself.

I drink a cup of tea made from ginger powder at night and also in the mornings. I’ve also drink a beer made from ginger which I brew on the weekends. My main focus was ginger as an anti inflammatory but another benefit has been an improvement in my cholesterol levels, which I did not expect.

        I’ve heard the same!

        Here’s my question.

Along with high cholesterol, I’m overweight so I’ve been trying low carb for weight loss.

        Vegan is basically high carbs.
Will it still be efficient in losing weight?
And why is not recommended to at least keep fish and egg whites in the diet?

I’m currently hitting the weights heavy right now.

You can eat high carb and lose weight, you just have to eat very little fat.

The Video that I linked explains the topic about fish.

Egg whites by popular doctors who support veganism:

Losing weight comes down to calorie deficit.
Because wholefoods are generally less calorie dense and more volume and nutrient dense, they are infact better for losing weight.
Obviously if you eat processed vegan foods and lots of oil you will still gain fat since its high in calorie density.

High carb low fat seems like a recipe for diabetes.

Clarence Bass and Mark Kislich are examples of what can be achieved on a high carb, low fat diet.

Quite an achievement and doesn’t that look healthy?

The point is you can get as lean as you want using a high carb, low fat diet.

Eating low carb/"keto" isn't the only way to lose weight.
