Could a bob and weave style work in boxing

Could i bob and weave style work in current boxing, my mate thinks that current boxers ring IQ is too high to fight like this successfully once you get to a higher level, but i feel it'd really suit me. I'm kinda short relative to people my own division, and i'm always coming forward so i feel it's a good match. Could a bob and weave style like smoking joe, or cuss's peekaboo style work in amateur boxing, and what about professional boxing?

Also the reason this came up is cause my head movement has always been my biggest weakness by far, so i just got my mate to throw at me and i practised it and i was getting caught. I asked what's up and some advice and he said i'm to predictable. So how does a fighter like say Frazier only really have one sort of style of defence yet stay unpredictable and keep dodging those punches and have some of the best head movement ever? Thanks for the help.

I feel it's less about the style and more about the application. Switching was called antiquated by some, and too risky and inefficient to use in modern boxing. Then, in walks Terrance Crawford.
If you're skilled at what you do and know when to apply it and when not to, you can make the rules. Just keep in mind that fighters now favor economy of motion. You can't get away with excessive movements on a high level. This is why you have to pick and choose, and also be able to adapt to a more conservative style when necessary.

Hell yeah it can work, but you'll need more than just that. Upper cuts are that styles nightmare..……..Rockin'

Anything *could* work. Then again, it might not.

I'd say try it out. Get some sparring sessions in where you can work on it, see it how it feels, and go from there. It never hurts to learn new technique, even if they don't become part of your mainstay arsenal.

Yes & No. It really depends on how you apply it. Test it out yourself and see if it gets you good results.
