Wasted too much energy hopping and leaning too much with the jab, tuck those elbows in and work more on your jab to keep the distance.

Obviously easier said then done, and it will get better with experience.

Yeah I'm already working on my jab so I don't lean in so much, was leaving myself open to be hit and I almost fell over twice due to it, it made me look very beginner like.

Another thing I noticed I was doing was leaning back at times when using my jab, to try and avoid being hit but the result was that my jab either wasn't catching or only just catching him but it didn't do much damage at all, then he would rush forwards with punches, him being the faster puncher was then getting the better of me. I also need to work on defending myself in the future when that happens, I was sort of taking punches instead of moving around, need to learn to not just stand there but I think that was due to it being my first time.I need to get better at moving around and away when I begin to get in trouble.

        Just my opinion...

Always relax. You move well but when he's near, you start panicking and become stiff. Learn also how to move sideways.

Small step forward for the jab.

Don't pull your arm too far back when you punch, he will always see that. Make sure your fist won't pass your shoulder before throwing a right. Try warding his arms off, take really small step forward and throw that super quick straight. It's fun...

Your body's always open. Make sure your armpit is always closed, never open it

And when the guy is rushing in on you: just take a step back and use you height with the jab. If he is still rushing you than do it again and bring your right hand in behind it. …………...Rockin'

What would you do if they came to you proposing a bout against a kid with 2 or 3 bouts under his belt? ……..Rockin'

Boy-o, it is rough watching lads eh?

There's plenty to criticize my boy, but, I'll have ya take notice by me; yer young and got plenty of time fer learnin'.

I reckon you did well enough to keep at it and hope to see you evolve. I don't reckon criticism is rightly helpful quite yet. Build yerself up son, you are worthy of the sport.

You did land some good jabs tough. But when you missed the jab instead of leaving it there and pushing why not just reload it and fire it again. And don't take such a huge step , with your front foot. Steps are small in boxing. By reloading I mean letting the force of your back leg, brining the shot back from his face only as far as it takes you to go from 180' knuckles to 90' knuckles, just a simple turn of your fist and bend of the elbow. As soon as you're are 90' again with your knuckles... ****!! You fire the jab a 2nd time with your back leg/foot behind the shot, stepping forward just a bit.

You got up there and you did it man, that's the way you do it!

Why no right hands until the 3rd round. It gives the opponent more to think about if you show it earlier, but not too early!

How many times have you sparred would you guess?

Now, unlike so many in these forums, you have experience! Good job...…...Rockin'

You have the balls to get into the ring whereas 99.9 percent who think about it don't. That can never be taken away from you young man.
