Throwing a lot of punches, like rushing. Good or bad?

Few days ago I had my second sparring session.

First a one minute round against a guy that was good. Great shape, great technique, and two weight classes bigger. I told him hey let's make it light ok? I'm a newbie. He said of course.

I fought like a pussy, kinda scared and threw like 10 punches in total. Tried to outbox from the outside and got against the ropes a few times. And he was good with me, he could have hit me like 50 times and he pardoned me, and hit me light everytime.

So after that, the same guy had to spar against my friend, who is also a newbie, but slightly better than me. My friend went all in, porter mode (I told him to fight like porter cuz he has the same body type) and he had a lot of success, and got the best off this guy that was really good.

So a few minutes later it was my turn again and I sparred one minute against a guy from my weight class. So I wasn't scared this time, he was my size. I said ok I'll go all in, I might have success like my friend did.

So I rushed him with four punches, one two one two, and he got in defensive mode. So I threw like fifteen punches in a row, and he got so defensive and went to the ropes, and I could land an uppercut, then I kept throwing punches like crazy sometimes punches with poor technique and he kept doing nothing but trying to block my punches. Then the trainer stepped in and said ok take some distance.

Then I realized I was terribly tired after that flurry. So tired. He attacked my body twice and though I didn't feel any pain, I felt even more tired and I had problems raising my hands. I quit. Yeah, that happened inside one minute lol.

But after that experience, I'm thinking of going all in, rushing, everytime I can. I had great success. Obviously I have to work on my endurance and I know fighting like that takes some energy, but it's way better than just staying defensive. At least on a newbie level.

    What do you think?

The first parts of your story were sounding like some 50 shades of grey ****, bro.

it counts don't go all out, throw a 6 punch combo if you want then ease off, don't punch yourself out, and body shot's never hurt early on but eventually they will take there toll, and never forget to use a stiff jab to the body when you're easing off the tempo

If you dont know how to cut off the ring then punching in volume is terrible. & usually when you punch in volume you end up sacrificing power and speed due to not having the proper base. You also have to work on speed because punching in volume requires you to get off first because your offense is your defense, ie. have em cover up while you work on openings...

Anyways, to sum things up there are a lot more you should try and focus on other that beating up your sparring partner. Practice a solid fight stance and your foot placement and go from there.

You could take up being a comic. That is a pretty funny one-liner. The longest minute in your sporting life 'til now.

Pace yourself, work your way in with the jab. Don't go for the knockout so quickly. It will set itself up. If you do everything right and just punch when you see openings then there is no reason you can't get the knockout. By forcing punches then you set yourself up for a knockout.

Why would he be going for a k.o? Hes sparring you nit wit. You would have to throw MANY punches b/c you cant punch ,you would look like Gumby vs a lion to any puncher actually with even semi experiance...lol

Don't be to hard on yourself thats why its called sparring, the first guy you didnt have the gauge to know what to throw, the second guy ...well i bet you were winded from your first outing. Throwing punches and adrenaline takes it toll, even if you dont think it did . i won my first fight in about 2 minutes. i had to fight again THAT night and was winded by 3 minutes because i didnt do cardio. Just practice and it will come to you...post some vids for better analaysis.

I literally said not to go for the ko. It seems reading isn't your strong suit or even a skill for that matter

I advise nobody to take boxing advise from this guy because he reveals in every post how much of a fraud he is. He's legit saying to just throw as many punches as you can. Sorry jugg but if you trained in an actual gym and not LA fitness, you would have learned proper counter punching and defense.

I was wrong about Gloveking, his bagwork ****s all over yours. Never seen a person more easy to counter with left hooks and right hands than Juggynutz.
