    And yes I also stated that in Espanol it is also called a right hook. At least where I am from in Monterrey

        I haven't been to every gym in the U.S. obviously. But due to moving a lot as a child I was exposed to boxing trainers in NYC, Texas, and the West Coast. In all that time I was never shown a right hook from an orthodox stance by any of them. And I was specifically told that there is no such thing as a right hook by one of them and by several boxers too.

        I won't claim that I'm an expert by any means but I do think it's important to note what I was told as these gyms and people are now gone. It's worth preserving for the record IMO.

          The hook has to be short and to the body.

          You can't shoeshine it with a loop.
