I suggest you guys then start watching badman contests or the UFC. Boxing is a sport and the sweet science. Not every fighter is going to go out there and brawl, or KO his opponent. Initiating contact isn't what Mayweather or any counter punchers do, it's why they are called COUNTER PUNCHERS.

Mayweather tried very hard to KO Guerrero and couldn't, give Guerrero credit on that one.

Not every fight can be a brawl, and I like it that way.

Let me clearify something for you! C1520, I know boxing methods & techniques very well and taught those skills to many boxers on the amatuer level who excelled on a state, regional and national formats! My amatuer teams in the past were outstanding and many individuals were excellant representatives of high level boxing techniques! My son at 15 yrs old had no one to box in our state and to get him ready to compete on a regional team he would exhibition with Marlon Starling andTroy Wortham and Mikie Bell who were very talented professional and amatuer boxers!
Don't think for second that I'm a crude step by step clubber type trainer!
My boxing styles were formed by Willie Pep (personally) my inside training came from Gaspar Ortega (personally) and my "desire" to compete came from ****e Moreno a fighter from the 20s who was known for fighting two and three times on the same card!!!! He was my uncle who lived to be 95 yrs old!

If you look at the 76 Olympic from the States you are looking at my style of boxing, that was perpetuated by Pat Nappi and many other national coaches from that era!

My ***** with todays fighters is that there seems to be NO Fight in them!!
Its a philosophy not so much an activity!
Yes boxing is an art form and could be a wonderfull exhibition of physical attributes but it is a fight too!
Don't paint me as a trainer who only taught agression, I assure you my fighters could and did box their azzes off! You don't win state and regional & national competitions without knowing and having excellant boxing skills! Ray.
by the way your "location" description is just silly!

I didn't paint you as anything, you did that yourself with your comments about how Mayweather runs and doesn't want to get KO's, which is simply not true.

If you are who you say you are, then you should be ashamed of the comments you made. Boxing is a sport, it is the sweet science and it's the diversity in styles that makes it so entertaining to watch.

I teach a pro style, I like my fighters to come forward and pressure. If course I also train according to skill, talent and physical structure.

While I agree it's a fight, not all boxers can fight. Paulie this weekend for example showed how he had to outwork Broner to have a chance and made it a very competitive fight. If he would have stood in front of Broner like you suggested, then he would have gotten knocked out.

Do you know what "La Chingada" is?

I lived in Mexico City for 2 years and fought out of S.W. Valley Alb. N.M. for 2 years also, and yes I know what it means! it's childish for you to use it!!

I didn't say anything about Paulie not standing his ground he had to move, he has NO power at all. He trained for distance and he got there it was a success for Paulie!
Enough of this, I thought you were a person who understood the differences between amatuer scoring and boxing and the pros! When I had kids who could box but didn't have pro power they didn't move on to the pros! I didn't train young men to become "second tier" or "opponents"!! If you can't contend to be champ why go into this business?
You paint a pretty picture like in a movie ha, I wouldn't pay to see Mayweather live. He's a bore even with lots of talent he just doesn't give his all and looks like he could go jogging after the bout! You may think that its wonderfull that he can do that against second tier talents I think its a cope out!
He just tweeted that Broner should have stopped Paulie!!! Imagine that the biggest pot calling the lil kettle black!!! Enough of this garbage! Ray

Let's remember one thing about Mayweather, he is not a natural 147lber. He was a KO artist at 130 and that was about it.

The fact that he said Broner should have knocked out Paulie has nothing to do with Mayweathers style. Mayweather and Broner are two completely different fighters and not even in the same universe as far as skill is concerned.

I think that the fact you don't like Mayweather is clouding your judgment. I don't care for that style aesthetically much either but I can't deny his amazing talent. Mayweather is a beautiful boxer, he moves, counters and can stand in front of you if he wants.

Broner should have knocked Paulie out, because of how much hype he's been getting. I think this fight showed that Broner is severely overrated and once he fights those monsters at 140, things won't be so easy for him.
