heres a video, now this is what i call ASHAMED
2nd video shows you are not even comfortable to begin with which is somewhat common with beginners. You seem to not know what to do against a jab. Either get a friend and have them go drills or have your coach teach you how to catch, slip, roll, move your head against jabs then once your comfortable with that then mix in 1-2 punches, then the rest. Don't worry about getting embarrassed, honestly from watching this video you need to get broken down so you can get built back up. You need to get punished in the ring so one day, you will "not give a fuck" anymore.

If I was your trainer, the first thing before anything else is to make you comfortable. So, then I would ask you after that sparring "How did you feel?" and "What made you uncomfortable when sparring that guy?" then take it from there. Also get used to taking punches, you reacted as if you were getting hit by a mallet from every punch.

You did run into his punches the whole time and ate every jab he threw.
i think it comes back to what you said before about your coach not teaching you defense and head movement.

This reminds me of one of my early sparring sessions where I kept stalking my opponents the whole time while he kept punching me.
My coach corrected me immediately and told me not to stalking which I think your coach should have done.
Moving around the ring and making him chase you doesn't make you a coward.

Your only plan was to get close enough to throw the 1-1-2 the whole time.
That comes back to the mindless punching i was talking about.
Don't over think your punches and combos.
It should come without thought, exactly for sparring like this.
If you have to stop to think about the punches you should throw then you get hit in the face as simple as that.
And again not your fault cuz your coaches have kept giving you confusing instructions like "your hands are to fast for your feet and legs " looool.
This shows when you were desperate to get inside but didn't know what to do except throw hesitant 1-1-3.
As I have said many times you are very tense.
Focus a lot on getting relaxed in your body and to relax your shoulders.

Listen, don't take my pointers the wrong way.
I understand that it's tough and I'm impressed of your hard work.
      Your enthusiasm is infectious.
I'm seriously thinking about getting back into boxing or start coaching because of your treads.
      Thx
Keep working hard and keep shadow boxing everyday for at least 10-15 min.

thanks guys, thing is i kinda knew this was going to happen, so i was thinking to myself do what i can for at least two rounds.

so when the coach stopped it i didn't want to give up, so i begged him to let me continue and do as much as i can. but when it reached the last 20 seconds of the 2nd round i got beaten so much, i couldn't go no further.

if i stepped back than i knew the coach was gonna say **** so i just kept on going forward and forward. but i couldn't land any punches lol. i really need to get used to punches. it did hurt :-/

thanks mohammendi, i will try to be the best fighter i can be! will post some sparrings more if i start to get the hang of it!!

thanks bud, that was just my regular sparring session at the gym, nothing else. that guy actually has a fight coming up so i was selected to be his sparring partner (although i really didnt help him, i was like a freaking heavybag lol)

i did notice that i was bending, as i still do have the fear of getting hit, how can i improve this?

thanks alot, today my coach kindly went over the sparring i did with him (former WBC minimum weight world ranker) as well as working with me on the heavy bag man to man, just throw punches over and over non stop and at the last 30 seconds throw'em with full speed and crazy like ****. ive been hitting it the wrong way, took some time to realize this. im so ****** haha. i wanna try to do this for at least 10 R (usually thats how many R i hit teh bag) but its gonna be hard, i mean i dont have the stamina. i did start some interval training though. hope this helps me.

anyways, sorry i wrote a lot. i really appreciate your advices and i'll work hard to improve!

          god bless everyone!!

You have the right attitude and the right mentality to be successful and you have a warriors heart .
Every great fighter has to have a great coach.
I'm not saying that you should leave your gym but try other gyms and see what fits you best.

Honestly what would Tommy Hearns be without Emmanuel Steward?
What would Pacman be without Freddie Roach?
What would Mike Tyson be without Cus D'Amato(His career fell apart when his coach died)?
If you have a sucky coach it will hinder your development.
As I said you have an impressive mentality when it comes to bettering yourself.
You are young so you have a lot of time to develop.
I had a friend who went to a horrible bad gym and barely learned anything in over a year.
When he switched gym he noticed immediate improvement in his skills and development.
The guy went on to win the Swedish junior AM championship the next year.

              Stay up dude

Man I was so nervous I PUKED after the first round of my first sparring session (told them I ate something bad lol). As time went on I relaxed and came up with a basic technique (keep my right hand up like I'm on the telephone, elbow GLUED to my liver and jab HARD and as often as possible). From there I learned to bob and weave, keep my eyes open and look for/set up right hands, left hooks and uppercuts. The main thing that keeps me brave is CONDITIONING....at LEAST an hour a day, five days a week - whether its running 4 or 5 miles or 30 minutes on the bag (NON-STOP) and 30 minutes running. Drink water with EVERYTHING.

hey man EVERY person on here (that has sparred) has taken a beating..

what you do next is CRUCIAL...getting used to being hit is an art in itself and only comes with practice.

best thing about sparring is when you try something (combination/slipping) and it WORKS! that'll add confidence..

correct me if im wrong but you never actually hit him with anything significant..try and HIT him..mean it..it'll change the way he thinks and he may think twice about just taking the p*ss and hitting you when and how he wants..

what you do next is CRUCIAL..make sure you get back in the ring..

thanks bud! i sparred today as well, and i really realized that i need to look at the opponent during any circumstances. i always look down, is there any exercises i can do to correct this? one i always need to keep my guard up, but is there any other things i could do? my sparring competition is on the 13th of next month so i really need to correct my habit of looking down on the mat!

You have to relax and relax some more. Pretty sure this has come up already but here goes anyways. Fight smarter, forward is not the only direction!! Someone told me that people have this illusion that it's a good thing to "die standing", ie. stand in front of someone and get wrecked, whereas in truth it's a ****** thing to do I agree! Not saying you should run but just mix it up and use your head and feet.

I had the look down problem too. If i was being pressured I would start throwing hooks my face towards the floor lol. Imo it's just about getting used to it and the right mindset. Also being too stiff and "unrelaxed" (wtf is the word) mentally can be your worst enemy in boxing. Though different things work for different people. I'm probably too relaxed during sparring from time to time. Burst out laughing when I missed a leaping hook and ducked the following counter. Them leaping hooks are ****ing hilarious, you look ******ed if you miss. Once a dude shut me the **** up when I was yelling OOooo because of his neat slipping, I was abruptly interrupted by a hard left hook, haven't done it since.

Also counted like 17 consecutive jabs from the other dude at the start, damn.

Anyways keep working hard and don't worry you are still just a newbie and young. Looking at the description of your video you shouldn't be that hard on yourself. Read J dempsey's post a few times, it's good stuff. Lose to learn, head held high, none of that "i'm weak" ****.

Edit: Oh **** noticed that your trainer said not to back down, so it's all good I guess. Personally I think that's just bull**** but he probably wants to teach you something. BTW the dude telling you won't have natural strength is wrong. If I recall correctly you are 15 so no way you'r physique is finished, you could grow to be a naturally strong. But then again it doesn't mean anything. Last weekend saw the most ripped up dude I have ever seen get a beating from the better boxer in a tournament. If it makes you feel better I'm a tiny ****er with zero "physicality", also look like a 16 year old girl even though I'm 25 and male, damn.

I like this guy, he's got heart & is determined. The ''I promise i'll improve'' kind of touched me, I'd love to train with this guy.

Ignore the haters on here 9/10 of them would of quit after that mate and never sparred again and that is a fact.

I hear & see it every week, these so called experts that like to put others down - They get their arses beaten to a pulp and have no heart, you don't see them again.
So don't let them get to you, use that as ammo to motivate you to work harder and prove these b1tches wrong!

As far as tips etc go I think it's been covered? Just continue learning and pushing yourself. Your 2nd video, though you did get beaten up, you'd definitely improved a lot in it!

Respect to the guys that have tried to help this guy out & gave tips trying to help him, shows that not everyone on here is a total d1ck.
