The most I have ever done consecutively is about 112 in an army pt test. When I was oveseas I was doing crazy workouts. I used to watch a full fight 12 rounds, run at a sprint speed(treadmill), jumping jacks, steps, shadow box, squats, for the 3 minute rounds, and push ups during the one minute break between rounds. Normal, widearm, close arm, diamond pushups for the whole minute. I was averaging about 400 to 500 pushups a night almost. Almost every night.

Plus a 5 mile run 4X's a week, and weight room. I was in tremendous shape. I came back ripped. We used to also play basketball alot. And since I didn't really like army chow I would eat alot of canned tuna in sandwiches, salad etc.

Still in shape but not like that, more beer involved and no workout partner. Now its running, nautilous weights, pushups and shakeweight. I stopped going to the boxing gym.

The key to proper pushups is form. Go all the way down til your chest rests on the floor and all the way back up til your arms are fully extended... EVERY TIME!! and do so for sets of 25. do 4 sets of 25 for a week or so and then add more sets. after a couple weeks go for your max again. don't rest more than 30 secs between sets, stop feeling sorry for yourself and push beyond your limits!!

Just do sets then add a set or two a week for about a month, then switch it up with variations to challenge your muscles continuously. I don't go for maxing since I left the army because I have no need to max them but I do a tremendous amount of sets 4 times a week to keep my pecs and tri's in line.
my max was probably 80ish with a total of 100ish for a pt test but now with 6+ sets of 25 and pullups everyday at least 50+ and I am jumping up a notch as I am going back to the gym next month. If you reach a plateau you can't overcome then you aren't pushing yourself. try elevated pushups or "the perfect pushup" but inreality these novelties aren't that necessary, as you can make up for it by just doing more normal ones.
no excuse for lack of proper form and movement on a flat surface you don't need elite pushup equipment if you can't master a normal one.
it comes down to muscle memory just do enough often enough and you will increase pushups by a good 10+ a week or so depending on your dedication and your squirrel heart.

About 70 or 80 I would say guessing. Not done my 1 rep max in ages .I can do 1 arm elbow in as well tho .It all depends how fast i'm pushing and how good my technique is .Best technique for normal good push-ups ( i think ) is left hand pointing 11 oclock right hand 1 oclock shoulders shoulder width .

When u point your hands like that if you do it you'll notice it brings the elbows in just like on the 1 arm ones

Used to be able to do about 40, now only 25 pushups 4 times a day.

I can do about 60 before my arms get tired. Also aiming for 100. I'm improving each week though.
