30 push ups is pretty good . Most people who don't do much physically can't do 20. It takes most people quite a bit of work to get to 50. When I was in top shape I used to be able to do 70 but that was going fast. The world record is a staggering 10,000 non stop.

Yeah it blows my mind. My push up muscles would literally seize up before even 100. His muscles must have dealt better against lactic acid or something.
I do sets of sixty. usually about eight sets per day, however, i have never actually maxed out. I also use these everlast gadgets that help me keep form.
push up paddles will make pushups harder and you can be more explosive by twqisting the paddles when you hit the top.
another tip. I used to do pushups using 3 chairs. Form a triangle with the chairs, legs on one chair at the tip and one hand on a chair either side at the wide end. this allows you to dip lower, making it harder and stretching the muscles more......think about it....the floor stops you from going lower.....with the chairs you can go lower.
