I had one trainer that recommended I withdraw right away upon impact and another trainer recommend that I punch 1-heads length through the target. I can see benefits in both I guess (guy tries to go back, gets hit anyways, knocking guy off balance and going a bit deeper in the gut) but also see some downsides more specifically for punching past (more vulnerable to counters).
I like my power punches, I always keep control of the center and I always mount the pressure with activity and staying in range.
Could someone help me out in choosing what to do? Could use a broader list of pros and cons, mine is pretty limited.
