I'm at the point where I'm about to call it quits after 8 months of trying...I do see an improvement but for the way I'm killing myself with a 1 hour workout on abs...I'm starting to feel it's getting useless to put that much work into it...I've tried almost everything...anyone got advice?

Abdominal Fat is the last to go usually. It's pain in the ass for a lot of people.
But really, being able to see your six pack isn't that important, unless you're a bodybuilder/fitness model/metro.
Having a six pack just means you have low bodyfat. Nothing more.

I know it sounds crazy, but your body wants to hang on to every little thing it can to survive. Im guessing you dont eat more than what looks like 1400 calories a day. That, is ******ed, especially to do for 8 months. I used to eat 1800 calories for about a year, then I did my research, and I didnt start losing weight and gaining muscle till I started eating 3500 calories a day. I switched, 3500 calories spread over 6 meals (once every 2 1/2 hours) for a month, then down to 2000 calories the two weeks, then back up to 3500.
You have to eat more to lose weight, its a pain in the ass I know.
This thread is the basic idea behind what I be talkin.

But six packs are overrated, IMO as far the chicks go. My shoulders, arms, chest, lats have gotten more attention than my abs.

Good stuff, personally I enjoy walking on the beach and watching a girl trip in the sand from watching your stomach. Best, feeling, ever.
I completely understand the thread starter.

Same thing happened to me I had a flat stomach but no six pack, and I would kill myself I would train for over an hour and nothing. I can see it now and the crazy **** is that I don't even train half as hard as I used to and my body looks in the best shape ever.
