    Pro fight gloves for training

    1. Is it ok to use 10oz pro fight gloves on mitts/bag? How long would the gloves last?

    2. Did you guys know everlast made a Mexican style pro fight glove?
I can't post links so go to Ringside.com>Gloves>Pro fight gloves>Everlast MX Pro fight Gloves

They have horse hair in them like the old professional Cleto Reyes. The new Reyes have foam and they are called safetec.

Does anyone have any experience with the saftec Cleto Reyes and the Mexican Everlast? What do you guys think about them?

safetec are just another model of Reyes. they still make the classics. They were made probably for people with brittle hands who still want some pop.

why would you use them on the bag? there are plenty 10 oz bag gloves out there. or at least get some cheaper ones if you really wanna use pro fight gloves on the bag. and no they will not last very long. how long we dont know. depends on if you work out every day or just once a week, depends on if you work the heavy bag 10 mins per day or 1 hour..lets just say they wont last long, thats not what they were produced for

Depends on your size really. Normally it depends on the brand for pro fight gloves, but the majority can and are mad to be used for training too. If you're a smaller weight like 135 lbs and under, I'd suggest getting 14, 12, and 10 oz gloves for mitt/bag work.

Well this is what Ringside says.

"Reyes combines old-school, quality craftsmanship and the latest innovation in shock-dispersing, foam technology. The Reyes Safetec Professional Fight Gloves feature molded-foam for added protection, while maintaining the hard-hitting qualities for which the brand is known. The foam composition also makes the gloves perfect for bag or mitt work. Made completely of high quality leather."

I hear this new Reyes is like a pillow type glove and some guy on Ebay said this safetec Reyes can be used up to 200 extra times for mitt/bagwork than the horse hair reyes
