Hard boiled eggs, boneless chicken breasts, canned tuna, and protein shakes. Cheap and good sources of protein

it depends on what your goals and training look like. I would advise against using whey protein outside of your training window.

like others said, canned tuna has about 20grams of protein and is only a dollar where i live. as a supplement, i drink whey protein shake during the day and optimum nutrition's new casein protein shakes before i goto sleep.

so that way, on days you get plenty of protein from food like lean meats, egg whites, and other dairy products, you can drink less of the shakes..but when u dont because of your schedule or pantry/fridge situation, you can make up for it with the shakes.

anotherwords, it shouldnt be TOO touch to get the amount of protein you want if you plan ahead and invest a little

this is true. unless you are eating an ungodly amount of eggs daily and needing to cut serious weight, it is pointless to separate them.

I pretty much agree with most of the replies in this thread. After a hard muscular workout, it is likely best to go with a whey shake for the fast absorption to feign off catabolism. Noticed too someone mentioned cottage cheese. This is casein protein, and slow absorbing. Best to be taken just for daily requirements and best before bed.
