Are some people naturally fitter than others?

I find that I'm the kind of person that gets real tired easily...
I spar others and before I before I know it, I'm tired after half a round, yet my partner can keep going, and I doubt they work on their fitness either..

Are some people able to last longer because they are naturally fitter?

      everyones vo2 max is differrent
some peoples have a naturally larger one true, but from training hard enough you can obviously up your stamina

and you should know this already, some people are just born more athletic or more intelligent, it's thanks to their parents, grandparents etc

if you are fit your body will make you last, you have to work out and get stamina, then with proper training you will be able to turn that stamina to work in your favor,

put this this way, we are all born different...you might not be fit naturally, but you could be stronger for example. Keep training!

            Just train.

**** whatever anyone else is doin and work on bettering yourself, once that happens and you eventually go to a sparring match, THEN care about what the other guy is doing.

But right now, **** the world, think about yourself and ways to make yourself better.

how long have you been sparring/training? when you spar, are you calm even when your on the defensive? If you are not calm then your heart rate will stay high and you'll gas out easily if your are in good shape or not. Unless you are in phenomenal shape then getting tired would be a problem even if you were not calm. i have friends that trained for a while and have not in a while but still get together now and again to spar and they can go 5-10 rounds easy because they have a lot of experience and can stay calm during sparring sessions. you either need more sparring experience to learn to keep yourself from gassing out or you need to keep sparring and doing your conditioning to increase your stamina. youll get there.

                everybody is different.

I know some kids naturally have a lot of stamina, I know some kids have much better coordination and reflexes, some are naturally bigger boned and stronger, some thinner slower and weaker lol.

Boxing is a physical sport and having a physical advantage can help. An example would be having a thin face/jaw and neck which isn't very sturdy for taking punches. Doesn't mean all hope is lost though (Hearns).

I know everyone at my gym use to think I was a ninja because I was really coordinated and had a lot of speed (my coach would say this) Legit speed to, not just short punches made to look fast. On the other hand my stamina was terrible even when I ran 5 miles 4 times a week. My breathing wasn't as good as others and my lungs probably weren't as big.

Why do you assume that someone fitter than you isn't training harder, and it's just their genetics? Stop looking for excuses.

Yes some people are more genetically gifted than others (see RJJ) but that doesn't mean you can use it as an excuse to not train hard. I used to gas after the first round when i started sparring, but now I can go through a spar and 4-5 rounds of jab sparring afterwards because of my conditioning. Don't be lazy and work on your cardio
