Physical Burnout: how do you overcome that ?

    Hi,

I do boxing since 2 months and i also run, do stretching( weights, push ups, ...) and train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I did the maths to know how many time i train, and it make 23hours per week.
Those 3 last days i took a break cause i felt very, very tired, and i felt pain in both of my adductors.

How do you react to pain and how can you deal with being tired ? Do you take 1 day in the week to rest ?

As you get older it gets worse.
Workouts that don't even kill you in the gym or make you sore the rest of the day afterward, will tighten you up over night and you'll have a hard time getting out of bed.

The generally accepted logic is that you can't go hard everyday.
The harder you go everyday, the more rest you'll need.
Rest is the time that your body repairs itself; but strangely enough - your body does a better job of repairing itself when you're actively resting (like doing very light cardio) than when you stay in bed all day.
Joe Frazier says in his book (and my coach just told me last night) that you need to stick light days into your training as well as hard.
The light days will get your blood flowing and let your muscles repair themselves.

If you're truly over-trained, then it usually requires a couple weeks off.
I don't know that you've hit that level in 2 months, but not sure - 23 hours a week is a lot (I did 5 hours yesterday so I know how you feel).
I'd suggest going back when the pain goes away; or at least becomes manageable.

for the first few months i trained 3 days a wee.. u have to let your body get used to the training.. now i train 4-6 days.. i try to do 6 days as many weeks as i can

23 hours is alot for someone who isnt a professional and especially someone just beginning u will def burn yourself out

I know you said you have been boxing for 2 months but......... you know that old saying. if the weather is cold you're suppose to let the car warm up, before you drive it. Same thing about training IMO.
But its not too late. Just start doing 4 days a week...........
Monday = hard workout tuesday = easier workout wed = hard workout thurs= easier. ANd get plenty of rest. If you want you could workout sat = hard workout.
