1st time at a boxing gym

tonight im going to my local boxing gym for the 1st time, the same one audley harrison grew up in, and i was wondering if you guys got any tips for how i should present myself and ways i should do things for my 1st time, e.g bag work/pad work things like that, i know i will not spar for 2-3 months tho until i increase my technique somewhat, although my movement is very good

intorduce yourself to the coaches frist.....if they ask are you the next world champ...for the love of god say yes! (i said maybe and my coaches tease's me about it)

after they teach you the basic's, start working out or follow the rutine they have for you....since you just started they'll probaly have you do 4 rounds worth of workout's which is 2 min each plus 1 min rest.....

and when you have time get to know the guys around the gym...i know a dude named dan smith who compeited at the Ringside tourment this year and won.......

    oh....and have fun

    throwing up that is

          First thing - your kit.
          Two stripe tracksuit
Some fresh dogs (trainers/runners for those who dont get my lingo, suggestions, Nike high top Kareem Abdul-Jabbar air slammers)
Head band (thin, not thick, thin is fresh, thick is wack)
a gold chain with the word CHAMP
A sports bag with an olympics logo

already have on your fingerless martial arts gloves (to give yourself some boxing cred)
and a three colour custom mouthguard

Next spray yourself to look like you have just run 10kms. and come running in the gym, (late, not early, if they start at 7pm come in at 7.20pm for example)

First thing is to salute the coach, make it look like you go way back, something like this

dont look at anyone, remember, its like first day in the can. Look at someone wrong and ya might later get a surprise in the ring.

REMEMBER your martial arts training, impress by deep breathing, relaxing and concentrate your chi, to release extra ordinary explosive punches (if ya have those collapsable pine boards bring em in and get the most experienced boxer to hold it while you demonstrate your punching power)

Practice an 8 punch combo eg straight right, straight right, left uppercut, left hook, straight left, spinning back fist ( REMEMBER your martial arts) right hook, right uppercut and execute it, only this, and to impress with your cardio, do burpees between combos.

Make an excuse to leave early, get ya mate to call ya and say out loud something like ĻIf Hopkins wants a shot a me I want 2 mill buckeroonies, one wont cut the cheeseĻ.
Hire a limmo to come pick you up.
and a couple of huge security guards dressed in cammo,
          you might need them...

do whatever they tell you to do, if you can finish the pullup sets get help, can't finish pushups do sissies, situps -- cheat on form, just do everything and the main thing.. if they run go with them

Like peewee said, be respectful. Introduce yourself when you get the chance. Show the fighters that you're eager to learn and to follow their advice, and they'll respect you back.

                  Good luck.

Swifty, if you don't spend any time lying awake at night thinking about what you're gonna post next on the forum, then you are god.
