Set yourself a small, short term goal ie. aim to lose a certain amount over the next 14 days. After that set yourself another one. This is better than just having one big goal.
As for the rest, same as everyone else: exercise and eat right. Once you start doing that you will start to see results before long.

Run all the time. Do two different types of run - a steady distanced jog and on other days or maybe on the same day (one in the morn, other in the afternoon) go for sprints.
I don't know what country you're in...but I'm in England, i go to the park and sprint up the long side of a soccer pitch and jog round the other 3 sides. Then repeat..
If you're an American, perhaps a basketball court? I don't know..it's upto you.

yeah i live by a park in england, so i just run round the park (normally 8-10 laps) with each lap at about 700m. but then again ive always been quite a good long distance runner. i do:
1 lap jog
2 laps running
1/2 lap sprint 1/2 lap walk
and repeat
its sort of like fartlek training, look it up if you dont know what it is
