you've got to think about the positives and try and shut out the negatives when it comes to boxing. Remember boxing is about 90% mental and 10% phisical so you have to work on your mentality if you want to win fights.

just think how many pro boxers there is and has been and the very small percentage of them that ended brain damaged. you cant step out in the rain and not get wet.

bottom line is remember everyone gets caught (when i boxed i got bloody noses regular but my nose just got used to it) so you need to work on your defence and your mentalitly. remember your not the only one, so does every boxer.

yeah, thay was a good post.

btw, don't pay much attention to the "man up" comments. people need to understand that you are fairly new to the sport/art of fighting.

keep going man. if you are ever in brew city, give me a PM. i will work with you on some **** you would've probably never heard of. my specialty is in coordination and mechanics in relation to power output.

boxing4ever - as always, feel free to PM me.

My nose has been broken twice BUT both times it was due to street fighting when I was an idiot with the alcohol. I've not done any sparring yet but I'm slightly concerned that my nose is weaker than most peoples due to the fact it has been broken twice but I'll deal with it when/if it happens once I do have sparring sessions.

And, Boxing4ever, as fraidycat said, he has never known a broken nose in sparring so I think you should be okay. Oh, and make sure you hide those war stains from your ma!

Ahh the highlands. i lived in inverness for 6 months, thats where my love of whisky was born. Every bastard i met had this William Wallace hard arse split personality that would appear whenever they had a coupla of pints.......or a coupla iron brews. Beautiful part of the world though.

Yeah, I stayed not far from Inverness and you're right about the split personality with alcohol (hence why I got my nose busted).

Thankfully when I moved away from my wee town I was able to ditch the attitude tho - a lot of the problems up there are because there is eff all to do.
