    Weight Lifting

Is weight lifting generally recommended for boxing? I usually bench but after getting elbow tendinitis im thinking about just taking the Ali route and just doing calisthenics, plyometrics, stuff like that.

Isometrics are used by martial artists, it gives strength but not size.

If you have an elbow injury take some time off before it gets worse.
Weights can be very beneficial if done properly stick with Bench, Squat, Military Press, Lunges, Rows, Pull ups and Dips

IMO if you are going to lift for boxing you want to do a circuit and push your lactic acid threshold.
