Im a puncher myself AM record - 5-4-0 (3) Which im told is an excellent stoppage % in AM boxing but i dont follow it! U can usually IMO just tell if sum1 hits hard by watching them on the bag - Big Dents left in bag and loud thudds as the punches land but thats just my opinion.
Just realized i ****ed my record there! lol
    4-1-0 (3), I was thinking 5 fights 4 wins! What a tit!

Yeh that pushing your punches thing, I know when I throw a right cross it moves a lot more, and I was thinking is that just cos Im following through more ( and Im guessing pushing my punches )

What about focus pads. Probably a good way if you got an honest person holding em and theyve had experience

Almost all the trainer i've worked with on focus pads have mentioned my power and i'm one of the smaller guys in the gym. I've even had one mention I have equal power in both hands. Natural south paw switched right

Well, there are many pointers that could tell you that you can punch, but the most important is obviously how people react to your power.
The bag should not move around after one punch, it only means you are pushing instead of punching, it should kinda bend in, which means that you stop your punches where you are supposed to. It is ok for it to move arounda little when you throw combos.
Also, powere is something very relative, if you are more or less a big guy and you have your body mechanics right and sassy, you are gonna hit hard.

and also, if you are moving the bag around alot, does that absolutely mean you are pushing your punches? it feels like i put a lot less force into a punch if i pull it back without really trying to get in the middle of that damn bag. i guess waht i'm asking is what is pushing your punches?
my advice to you as a fellow heavyweight, judging from what you've said, is to work on covering up, jabbing, and moving. if the guy can't punch, practice your clinching. if you have a good jab and are much taller than a guy and have longer arms than him, just jab and move. it's interesting. the first time I ever got in the ring all I did was use a stiff jab, and a little movement and a little head movement when I needed it. took a few body shots but that was it. just keep your hands up. here I am giving you some solid advice when I remember long ago you said something to the effect of how 'you'd ko me'. Pretty big words from a greenie

lol, i did say something to that effect didn't i. honestly, the only reason i said that was because i think i commented on one of your sparring stories and i thought you were starting to get ****y. but honestly, i'm not like that.

Power...speed = power. Remember that! You said you aren't going to go hard when your sparring...why? You aren't helping yourself or your partner that way. No one is going to take it easy on you in the ring and should be visa versa. Unless your coach tells you to go at 50 % or whatever, spar like you are fighting. Bad juju otherwise. I am a firm believer in hard sparring. If you can't handle sparring like its a fight, you are just going to get hurt in the ring. Sorry 'bout the tangent.

As for power, don't worry about it so much, whether you have it or not, the more you learn, the more power you will obtain. But remember, speed = power. Ask anyone who fought PBF. They all saw that li'l Floyd hits hard.
