NO version of Mike Tyson can beat Lennox Lewis. I thought that was common knowledge.

Lewis vs. prime Tyson... who would have won?

If I were a betting man and I had prime Tyson vs prime LL I would pick Tyson within 5rounds or LL with a UD. Prime Tyson was much more elusive than the one LL faced and although LL would still be able to keep him at a distance for most of the fight I dont think he would be able to land that right hand the way he did versus the old Tyson. I dont think LL would be able to inflict enough damage to KO an much more elusive Tyson.
Prime Tyson was a powerful puncher and LL has been susceptable to big punches before even though he avenged both losses. LL, had more a problem with taller fighers though, LL tended to lean straight back which worked against smaller fighters but Vitali and Rahman were able to land leather on LL in this position....just look at those 2 fights and you'll see. With that said I'm not sure if Tyson would be able to get in on LL who would be able to tie Tyson up and lean on him.
Again I would hedge my bets with Tyson by KO and bet the under on 5rds or LL by UD.

Tyson may have landed a hard shot coming out of a clinch or something, but I really don't see him being able to do anything with Lennox once he get inside, Lewis is a very big, strong fighter himself. On top of that, how would Tyson be able to deal with that reach (get inside it to land a punch) while he's trying to slip jabs and right hands? I think Tyson is just too short regardless of his handspeed or power.

The Lennox Lewis that devastated a prime Golota in 90 seconds would have been huge trouble for any heavyweight in history. Big, strong, fast, technically skilled and with huge power. And pretty smart to boot. That would be too much for even a prime Tyson I'm afraid.

Lewis never fought anyone as fast and intense as Tyson, thats the way i see it anyway.

Originally posted by deuce_dropyep, lewis when faced with a tough opponent he always was top notch, it's when he over looked a guy is when he got busted up. lewis by ko, he fought defensive and well prepared when he felt challenged.........
Wenever Mercer attacked and pressured him he looked bad, Mercer unleashed big hooks in combuinations on him, and Lewis wasnt great at slipping or covering up, he did fight back and was effective with his uppercut, but against a very fast Tyson he would have been KO'd without question.
