Marquez would go on to knock Pacqiaou out COLD soon. Mayweather is 3 years older than cotto, almost 2 older than pacman. Mosley was also considered the top of welterweight during 2010, and was coming off a dominant effort against Margarito. You also keep acting like Floyd was in his prime against Marquz, Cotto, Mosley, and Pacman lol.
154 may (or may not) have been De La Hoya's natural weight class, but he was far from his best at the time.
Hatton was never good at Welterweight & Collazo already laid out part of the blueprint.
Marquez moved up 2 weight classes at the time & was not at his best against the overweight Mayweather.
Mosley was never at his best after his first loss which was many years before Floyd.

Floyd may have not been a "beast" like he was at Lightweight but to suggest Floyd was past his prime when he fought his biggest names is off! Acting like Mayweather was some shell when he fought Gatti, De La Hoya, Hatton, Cotto, Mosley, Pacqiuao LOL or like Floyd had some dramatic decline in his career or & his skills & talent eroded in the ring LOL

I don't care if Floyd was in his prime or not, I was just pointing out that the names he beat were all past their prime. Maybe it was a coincidence that Floyd never fought anyone in their prime when he was considered the best LOL

I can't see how Mayweather stays undefeated if he fought the guys mentioned in this thread. Mayweather is the biggest ducker in boxing history

Highly unlikely and he knew that as well. Its why he straight up, backed out of fights with Margarito and Wright, ducked out of the division when Williams, Cotto, Shane and Margarito were fighting each other and calling him out, and fought another slow, flat footed, short armed fighter in Marcos Madonna 2x instead of fighting the winner of the poll that he created, Amir Khan.

He was quick to say GGG was nothing special, had no special effects, but wasn't willing to take a risk and walk the walk.

Nothing but a long list of excuses lmfao. Time to debunk this nonsense:

I never said that Mayweather fought De La Hoya in his prime, but he fought De La Hoya AT dela hoyas natural weight of 154, moving up a weight division, unlike pacquaio who forced De La Hoya to kill himself trying to make 147 (he was 145 on fight night btw).

Hatton was never good but beat Kotsa Tszyu and goes on to beat paul malinaggi. You also act like Mayweather was some beast at 147 lol.

Floyd shouldve made the 144lb catchweight, but he was coming off a 2 year lay off and Marquez would literally have his career best performance when he knocked out Pacman in their forth fight 2 years later.

Mosley literally was fresh off a win after he dominated Antonio Margarito and was widely considered the best at Welterweight, this was a fight the fans wanted to see back then. Its funny because mayweather somehow ducks maragrito but fights and beats 3 guys who dominated him (Mosley, Pacman, and Cotto).

It is also quite funny how you left out guys like Pacquaio and Cotto, guys you claimed who weren't at their best, but floyd wasn't his best either. Mosley literally made a toothache excuse in order to duck floyd.

This makes no sense at all. Sometimes fighters need breaks from the sport- it helps better them mentally. When he came back, Mosley was the top guy at welterweight, and guess what, he beat him. He also beat Cotto 2 years later. Im pretty sure Paul Williams had 2 more fights at welterweight, both against Carlos Quintana. Unless you wanna tell me that Floyd was ducking middleweights

Sometimes fighters need breaks from the sport is that the new excuse? First the excuse was his hands was hurting, now he needed a mental health break which one is it.

The period of time I'm talking about Floyd only fought twice in 2 years Oscar and Hatton, real murderers row there, then he retired/took vacation for 2 years, came back and cherrypicked a slow, flat footed lightweight in Marquez, then took another year and a half to fight Mosley but guess what Mosley was a shopworn pushing 40 fighter how much credit does he get for that.

How many breaks does an a-side cherrypicker need to fight.

Paul Williams saw the writing on the wall and moved up to 160, Cotto had already been thrashed by Manny and Margarito how much credit does Floyd get for a points win.

He said an interview he needed a break from boxing on 24/7 in his lead up to the marquez fight.

The same Marquez knocked out Pacquiao cold at welterweight

The same Mosley had absolutely dominated Margarito (who you accuse floyd of ducking) and was the best in welterweight at this time. Shane Mosley was 38, btw, and Floyd was 33. Both were past their primes.

Cotto fought Pacquiao at a catch weight and himself got revenge on Margarito. Floyd was 3 years older (35 year old ffs), moves up to Cottos weight at 154, and fought a Cotto who had dominated Margarito in the rematch. He won most of the rounds (9 at least) and disproved the myth that all he does is "run". I say he should get alot of credit tbh
